[SlimDevices: Touch] Dont want my audiobooks

2011-12-20 Thread RealRedHair

Hello!

How can I block that my audiobooks in itunes are also listed on the
squeezebox? I do not want to listen to audiobooks via SB.

Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] how to save Mog current playlist

2011-12-20 Thread pavowren

can you be more specific?
when viewing the playlist, yes i can longpress a track and see the 'mog
playlist options' to add to an existing playlist or create one.
but i'm looking for a way to save the entire queue as a new playlist.
it seems i can only add individual tracks to an existing one. bummer...

Cheers for all the time you have dedicated to this "issue" with USB Dac
playback of 24/192-files! It is an inspiration to read about your
"labour" on this.

If it is solved in time for Christmas, it will indeed be THE Christmas
gift for me, too! I would love to have my Touch output 24/192 to my
Ayre QB-9.

Best wishes,
Peter

Ok, but what are the best cables for the stone?!?

LOL, you guys are too funny! I do have a sincere question though.
When ripping to Flac using DBpoweramp, I've always left the compression
level at the default "5". Is there a better setting or does it
matter? Or does the answer depend on how many symetrical stones I
have in front of my Touch?

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Any reason to covert FLAC files to other format?

It depends both on the number of symmetrical stones and on the amount of
Kool-Aid you've drunk. Higher FLAC compression levels do require
marginally more CPU time to decode. Some believe the extra CPU load is
sufficient to adversely affect the sound quality of the player. Those
people recommend a compression setting of 0.

I believe a compression level of 0 would only be feasible if you had

Symmetrical stones aside :-), it doesn't really matter what compression
level you set for FLAC. No matter which compression level you set, the
same decompressed data is generated at decode time.

A higher number will result in slightly smaller files. As you increase
the number, the amount of CPU (thus time) to generate the FLAC file goes
up significantly. At the same time, the amount of decrease in the file
size does not drop tremendously. You very quickly hit a point of
diminishing returns.

I use dbPowerAmp myself and have left the compression value set to its
default value.

good advice. I use dbpa and use the default of "5". The difference in
file size between 5 and 8 is tiny and (at least a few years ago) there
were a few players that would sometimes "struggle" in decoding a 24/96
FLAC file that was at "8". But again, lossless is lossless.

Hi Peter,
getting 192 to work over USB is a very different issue, that is going
to be much more difficult. There are two classes of issues right now:

Async 24 bit has some issues, current info is pointing to it NOT being
ALSA related, rather something in the low level USB driver.

Doing 192 needs a recent ALSA which supports audio 2.0. This is
something Logitech does not want to do since the drivers for the
internal DAC and S/PDIF would have to be rewritten for the new ALSA.
Even if this is done we still need to get the first issue addressed.

The upshot is that getting 192 working by Christmas is NOT going to
happen!

I have SDT working on my Touch. You need to manually install the plugin
(and edit a few files). To display SDT's info you need the Custom Clock
plugin. There is a screen that captures the info from the SDT plugin.
There is a thread on this forum somewhere that discusses this.

h, I'm confused. Maybe I don't understand what you're trying to do.
For example, on my end, I can do this:

1. Open LMS WebGUI. Add some of my own songs to the current playlist
(right side of window). Then go into myapps/MOG, find some things
there and add these things to my active playlist (I can add entire
albums with one click or one song at a time. Or for example, I can
select a MOG playlist (top 100 songs on charts) and with one click add
this entire playlist to my "current playlist" in LMS. Then once I'm
done with all this, I can click on the little save icon (lower right
side, below active playlist in LMS WebGUI) and save this LMS playlist,
give it a name, etc. Then later I can pull this back up and see the
playlist with a mixture of my own tracks and MOG tracks.

If this isn't what you're trying to do, please explain a bit more.

[SlimDevices: Touch] Software update messing me around

2011-12-20 Thread Benny

Hi, hoping someone can help.

I'm stuck in an endless loopmy squeezebox is alternating between
updating from 7.7.0 to 7.7.1 and then back again. If I want to listen
to internet radio, I am prompted automatically to update to 7.7.1. I
can do this, and then radio works. But I can no longer access my music
library at all from the web control.

On the squeezebox touch unit, if I then try to access my music library
from the touchscreen, I am prompted to "update" back to 7.7.0, and then
I can play music from my library fine (seemingly also via web
interface), but I lose the ability to select internet radio stations.

And so on

Anyone else having the problem? Any idea how to fix? Have only had my
squeezebox touch 2 weeks, to be honest its not a good introduction!!

the problem is at the Touch itself, not any other interface such as the

not a major problem, but something i'd thought that would be common
among users. you queue up a bunch of new songs and find that they are
pretty good. so you want to save it as a list.

Well, you can save it as an LMS playlist which will be available for
LMS, but won't sync back to MOG to use from other MOG apps or the web
player. To do that, you click the top right button on the now playing
screen (looks like a list) that will take you to the queue, and if you
scroll all the way down, you get the save option.

Heck - I would be tickled pink to get 24/44.1 output to my Proton. :)
24/48, 24/88.2, and 24.96 would be icing on the cake! :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] how to save Mog current playlist

2011-12-20 Thread pavowren

on Touch, the only option at the bottom of the queue is: "Clear
Playlist"

currently i'm running LMS on Synology NAS and it's stuck at 7.6 which
does not support Mog. oh well, no big deal. maybe in 2012.

Okay, maybe the save playlist plugin was removed from your system for
some reason? You could check under plugins in the settings on the webUI
to see about adding it back, although it won't help you with the MOG
situation if you can't upgrade LMS.
