Re: Our biweekly meetings
Apologies for the delayed response. Note that we ended up not meeting on Wednesday because it was only Jelmer and myself. ;) Maybe the thing to do is to suspend the meetings until we have a clear agenda for them moving forward. Note that I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing! While there are some big ticket items that really need addressing (e.g. the quilt story), for me, UDD is a huge success. Despite the warts, I personally can't imagine working any other way. The mailing list seems to work reasonably well for that sort of discussion too though, when it happens to come up. By the way if you hope to receive any help then at least post the error message you get when using debdelta? Thanks for responding. I do not have any major breakage in the system. In the absence of the locale files, debdelta returns an error x (number) of locales missing, hence package creation failed. So how can this be now resolved? I have now removed pocalepurge, but some of the locales are still missing. I had used locale purge to remove unnecessary files on the system, but this is an unintended effect. So 1. How to use debdelta and avoid having packages not created because of missing locale files. Is there a work around or is it an either use (debdelta) or use (localepurge) case? And completed unrelated to localepurge and debdelta 2. How to create a package download script from the command line (apt-get) that won't include the packages already existing/created using debdelta? I think synaptic includes those already present? Correct me if I am wrong? Ubuntu 11.10 Kernel Configurations
Hi All, With the Ubuntu 11.10 Kernel Freeze approaching, the Ubuntu Kernel Team felt this would also be an appropriate time to advertise what we intend to be the final kernel configurations for all the main distro and ports kernel flavors. The purpose is to expose the main configuration changes and provide pointers to the full configurations for those who are interested. To aid in the comparison of kernel config changes from Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty) to Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric) we have generated a delta report [1]. UI freeze exception request: network-manager-openvpn 0.9.0-0ubuntu1
Hi, I would like to update network-manager-openvpn to the current latest release 0.9.0. We're already at a fairly recent pre-release of 0.9.0, so there aren't all that many changes besides translation updates. It however adds a few small fixes, including unbreaking translations of strings in the UI: those were previously always actually translated; but the UI code was incorrect blocking the translations from being used. The rest is code cleanup and small fixes. However, there is one additional change: adding a password type combo; which introduces three extra strings to be translated: Saved, Always Ask, and Not required, being types of passwords for details on how to save them in the keyring. Technically, another extra string is added for the RSA-MD4 HMAC digest algorithm; but this is not a translatable string (extra option for digest algo. to be chosen by the user, relevant for documentation). FWIW; the accompanying freeze exception bug is here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-openvpn/+bug/846037 . It includes the full debdiff; build logs, install logs.
Aí, veio o time do KDE e mudou toda a interface, adicionou um renovado framework e voilá! In antwerp I've got 3g speeds of 250KiB (bytes, not bits) / sec. That's not a lot, but enough for some users to use the internet simultaniously. The internet at my school is capped to 60KiB, so a lot better. I'll send them a mail, it can always be usefull to google something at the boot if there are any questions we don't know the answer to. Hi, Nice to see three people stepping up for the website. I highly encourage you to work as a team instead of a single person. That way, you won't feel alone and the need for coordination leads to better documentation and/or communication. Even when in Canada, I can still take the time to answer any question you may have regarding Ubuntu-be.org's website. About the 3G connections. I don't see a 512Kps cap when testing my Mobile Vikings connection in Brussels with the SpeedTest.net application. It reports 962 kbps on download and 423 on upload with a 160ms ping using an HSDPA network. [Bug 568687] Re: Built vm image file retains random temp filename
One alternative solution to just naming the image after the hostname would be to introduce a new parameter --image (or something) which would take the filename of the image to generate. Hi, can you please paste your /etc/apt/sources.list and any files under /etc/apt/sources.list.d? It sounds like you may have backports enabled, not just lucid-updates.
