[Bug 1077696] Re: mounted samba share stops working for file access
I have this as well but not with VLC. When using anything that isn't aware of the workings of fuse/gvfs, so it relies on the mounted folder that it creates. With things like Shotwell, MusicBrainz Picard, etc, after a few minutes of doing its thing importing stuff, gvfsd-fuse and all associated processes keel over on me and cannot be killed. Seems there are some sys calls that are confusing it that these apps may use. Hi Chris, I am now running with http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~ickle/linux-2.6/log/?h=for-imre pulled into main linux git. The first thing I realized that there are some very strange effects happening: I have docky (a panel) running, and set to auto-hide. If it is shown, then there are boxes around *some* of the icons there. And if the docky panel is going into hiding mode, then a nice green bar appears across my screen. Is this a known problem? Should I report it somewhere? I have made two screenshots showing the effects, should I upload them here or somewhere else? Running current linux HEAD with http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~ickle/linux-2.6/commit/?h=bug55984 pulled in I cannot trigger the crash, how hard I have tried now for some time. Compared with the for-imre branch also the strange artifacts are gone, so it looks much better now. Okay, I guess I have to recall my statement, I didn't realize it at first. Due to the i915.enable_hangcheck=0 it seemss that not simply the 3d died and Gnome3 WM died, but with this the screen went black and didn't react on anything. Interestingly there were no messages at all in the log files. I could SysRq the computer, and the logfiles showed activity, but the screen remain black. I guess that is the sign of a hang. Ok, after banging my head against this for several days, I have decreed that the death within the render ring (inside the sequence of FLUSH PIPE_CONTROLx8 FLUSH) is due to enabling of rc6 on ILK. That doesn't explain all the crashes, but it does explain the immediate crashes on danvet-ilk using Daniel's killscript. After one week of intense testing, I see no more 17-duplicates happening, which make Kmail usable one again, nice work there ! I did see once Kmail duplicate 2 mails with 1 clone each. The cloned mails shows no content, only headers, and unfortunately I realized that after deleting the good mails. I use IMAP + Maildir. I still have the problem described in Comment 54 in KDE 4.9.3. Maildir, POP3. I have three messages that keep appearing in inbox every time I try to move, mark as read, or delete them. I also get a ton of “Maildir '' for collection '' is invalid” when I change folders. To be more precise, even after this fix, you can still see the 17-duplicates bug happens, not on mails that came since you started to use 4.9.3, but on previously received mails ; I had to click on every single folder of my mail folder tree to see some duplications, and remove duplicates manually. Apologies if this is not the proper kind of message to leave here, I want to put in a plea for addressing this problem. Being able to choose which cookies to accept (or not) is an important privacy feature and one that, as a user, I've invested a lot of time in. In the course of web use, I have accepted thousands of cookies and rejected thousands more. I'm not the only one, many friends and co-workers also go thru this pain in order to preserve some semblance of privacy while also being able to interact successfully with the many websites that have become an essential part of our lives. But the irritation of using this feature in its current half-implemented form, is torture. For instance, every time I start FF, it asks about the doubleclick.com cookie and every time, I click to not accept and the remember decision is clicked. Yet FF asks me the next time FF is started. Todo este asunto es un dilema, creo que la iniciativa nace con el fin de descongestionar la lista de temas de soporte, redireccionando de alguna forma los asuntos de soporte a un foro, probablemente local. Por un lado, si bien es cierto, existen un enorme cantidad de foros en la red que tratan diversos temas con mayor o menor profundidad, sin embargo algunos de los miembros de la lista acuden a ella [la lista] con el fin de encontrar solución a sus requerimientos ¿Por qué lo hacen?. Creo que a nivel general, no se ha detallado o especificado el contenido que debe ir en la lista, conocemos de alguna manera lo que no debería ir, sin embargo algunas veces se ven rodando estos temas por acá pero entonces, ¿de que se debe hablar en la lista?, y más importante, ¿como debemos hacerlo? Las normas de netiquette que circulan y se deben aplicar en la lista son obviadas por muchos de los que se inscriben en ella, de hecho, dudo mucho que la mayoría se tome la molestia de repasar un poco de que se trata esto y porque son necesarias estas normas de conducta, este hecho se hace evidente cada vez que hay un nuevo hilo mal redactado, sin asuntos claros y específicos o con un contenido mal formado, o los constantes requerimientos de ayuda para desvincularse de ella y abandonar la comunidad, si leemos un poco el proceso de vinculación, nos daremos cuenta de que ahí también se detalla como desvincularse, solo que lo pasamos por alto la mayoría de veces. Volviendo al tema de los foros, pienso que principalmente se acude a la lista buscando entre otras cosas: 1. Una respuesta rápida, no es un secreto que la lista es bastante activa y las respuestas de dan rápidamente 2. La probabilidad de que las configuraciones de hardware y software que poseemos sean similares son muy amplias, probablemente no hayan dos equipos iguales pero si deberíamos estar compartiendo el gusto por el software que usamos y los computadores en promedio deben ser mas o menos parecidos, por lo que creo crece la probabilidad de que si a mi me pasó algo, probablemente a otro miembro de la lista le ha pasado, y si encontró una solución, mucho mejor. 3. La jovialidad con que la mayoría de miembros trata estos temas, el lenguaje usado en la lista es muy amable y muy propio de la comunidad, algunos foros no se prestan para este tipo de tratos. 4. Pereza, hay que reconocer que ante el vasto mar de información, buscar quizás sea algo tedioso y mejor lo hacemos por acá. Entonces, si la lista se congestiona con correos de soporte, y si esto es un problema, como lo solucionamos, pienso que es algo complicado, porque entonces se tendría que empezar una campaña de concienciación sobre el uso de la lista, una campaña de educación sobre la manera de encontrar ayuda técnica y sobre todo una intensa moderación de mensajes, y los que han sido moderadores son conscientes de lo complejo que es moderar. En fin, o se educa a la gente en buscar en los foros y aprovechar otros recursos, o se realiza un foro local y se empiezan a tratar estos temas allí, o seguimos como estamos que igual no me parece excesivo el flujo de estos temas. Al final si se excluyen los temas de soporte quizás solo se mencione en la lista, parrandas, reuniones, quejas y reclamos, y por ahí de pronto uno que otro proyecto quijotesco. He visto en algunas ocaciones este caso. y sucede q cuando las personas desean arrancar en el.live cd. Pero este aun no carga el cd y continua la carga de windows las prrsonas le dan al reset. Provocando q se.corrompa el file systems de Windows. Ppr.lo tanto o no arranca o sale error de archivo o se reinicia. Para solu ionar esto debe hacerse un chkdsk /f x: asumiemdo q x: es la unidad de windows. O desde Ubuntu. Usar la herramienta para parriciones ntfs y hacer un fsck -y /sdax asumiendo q sdax. Es la unidad de windows. Por estar desde el cel no tengo mayor detallez. Quizas si te ayuda con google al respecto. Mientras llego y busco en casa. chromium memory conumption on x86_64
Hi folks, some time ago, when I've moved my notebook (4GB RAM), from 32bit gentoo to 64bit ubuntu, I've noticed a big increase in memory consumption. I haven't had a chance for deeper look at the code, but my suspicion is that a lot of objects (eg. vectors, etc) are doubled in size. Επίσης δεν έχει γίνει επιμέλεια, διόρθωση εικόνων κτλ κάτι που δεν είναι της παρούσης. Τώρα προέχει η ολοκλήρωση της μετάφρασης. Στο launchpad έχουν μείνει 170 αμετάφραστα.
