There was a related bug related corrected in 0.49b release of blender (released september 3), I suppose that karmic you use and that is still in developpment followed this version. Anyway, I switched to getdeb version few time after this bug report (mars 24 2009), about 6 month ago, before Jaunty was released as stable, without any answer since. In dmesg, at 2271.794995, I unpluged the converter (it was well detected by lsusb, but no ttyUSB0 was created), and repluged it one line later, at 2273.512192. the PL2303 was not seen before in the dmesg. [Bug 424620] Re: X.org doesn't hotplug wacom serial tablets
This is the lspci. I booted with a standard ubuntu X.org config, to generate this two files and explain more deeply the source of the problem. The detail of the device (could be an hardware problem on the device or motherboard) : (I made a mistake in my previous comment, it was not detected in lsusb) before I unplug/replug it. Anyway an hotplug detection by X.org of serial tablet (via usb or direct serial) could be better for the overall hotplug system. [Bug 424620] Re: X.org doesn't hotplug wacom serial tablets
Here the xorg.conf that allow to use my serial-usb converter + serial tablet config. As the hw problem of my usb-serial converter, only occur at computer turn on time, and I only want to reboot, I disconnected the usb-serial converter, booted without it, wait for error msg replugged it to finish, as I've to do at each boot. The best solution should really to be able to boot without tablet and hotplug detection as for other, I don't want to use it all the day, and then don't want to put it on all the day. In all case, I must, with this xorg.conf, unplug/replug it at first boot time, and unplug it after X.org boot. let it connected for reboot or plug it before reboot is fine too. The second one is sold really cheap by windows users because there are no more supported on their systems. USB volito hotplug works perfectly, nothing to configure in X.org. USB-serial cable + serial wacom hotplug doesn't work. I need to configure the device in /etc/X11/xorg.conf The problem is if the wacom is plugged before the system boot, it's not detected, and as hotplug doesn't work, I can't plug it after X.org has booted. If the device isn't present at X.org starting, I've a text screen giving me several solution to fallback from X.org failure. [Bug 345125] Re: flashblock doesn't block flash and totally disallow to show 'embed' flash content
** Description changed: Binary package hint: flashblock The actual flashblock in ubuntu-9.04 alpha (and with everyday update) doesn't block flash video from youtube and even doesn't allow to see any 'embed' video from youtube on other site. Tested on x86_64 platform with flashplugin nonfree and with official linux 64bit beta adobe flash plugin. disable flashblock, enable embeded flash to work again An example page where flash doesn't work with ubuntu version of flashblock activated: http://www.icidailleurs.com/artistes/nonstop.htm + + Workaround : + * remove ubuntu flashblock 1.3.11a official package + * install flashblock from firefox plugin catalog (tested with flashblock 1.5.8 and linux 64bit version of flash player) + http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/ + But suppose this works too with ubuntu official 32bit flash + wrapper -- flashblock doesn't block flash and totally disallow to show 'embed' flash content https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345125 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 337009] Re: ubuntu-8.10-desktop-amd64 livecd (on usb key) crash at boot on Intel Atom 330
Yes it crashs every time. I created the usb key using UnetBootIn because the integrated administration = makeusbkey didn't work at all, don't know why for, could be related to fat32/fat16 format on usb key ??? after unetbootin menu, and kernel loading, Linux kernel crash quickly. with register dump displayed on console. This happen on Atom 330, I can do more tests if it is usefull, but the crash doesn't occur with unetbootin+Ubuntu 9.04 jaunty alpha 5 nor alpha6 for x86_64 -- ubuntu-8.10-desktop-amd64 livecd (on usb key) crash at boot on Intel Atom 330 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
