[Bug 1876613] Re: Wallpaper not retained between reboots
I was looking for a solution to an unrelated problem, where in the tray it looked like my widgets were locked like I was used to from Plasma in 19.10, but I could still add widgets etc. So my search landed me on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMVsKEiQvO4 I figured that hey maybe the issues are related, so I first issued: qdbus org.kde.plasmashell /PlasmaShell evaluateScript "lockCorona(false)" And then since I actually do want my widgets locked I ran: qdbus org.kde.plasmashell /PlasmaShell evaluateScript "lockCorona(true)" Now, after setting my wallpaper and logging back in, now it stays saved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1876613 Title: Wallpaper not retained between reboots To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-desktop/+bug/1876613/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 480850] Re: Random freezes after system has been suspended at least once
i just made a new observation, keeping a terminal with top on top of all windows waiting for the next freeze: this time the first application to become unresponsive was hydrogen, and according to top it started using 100% cpu (one of 2 cores), then the gnome-panel became unresponsive, then gnome-terminal. what causes random innocent applications to use 100% cpu? -- Random freezes after system has been suspended at least once https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480850 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 91786] Re: Compiz's Panel shadows show on top of other windows
@ Travis Watkins The panel is always on top of everything except another panel The panel as well as the active window are both a candidate for user interaction, hence none of them should be covered by *anything*. with a big enough shadow this becomes a usability problem. metacity proves it can be done, see third screenshot above. (i know that technically the panel was always on top, but it didn't feel this way until we had shadows, and it shouln't feel this way) -- Compiz's Panel shadows show on top of other windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 91786] Re: Compiz's Panel shadows show on top of other windows
@mac_v unfortunately not. the thing is: the panel is kind of an exception from other windows, because usually, if a window is on top of another window, we want it to cast its shadow upon the window underneath, but the panel and the active window should be on an equal level, for both are a potential candidate for interaction in that situation. (see mac os x) the solution would be drawing the shadow of the panel behind other windows although the panel itself is not (otherwise we would have the window's shadow upon the panel which would be at least as wrong). -- Compiz's Panel shadows show on top of other windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 91786] Re: Compiz's Panel shadows show on top of other windows
@David: i think we all agree to make this change, but now it has to be implemented in compiz, it can't be done by changing a simple setting as far as i understand it. one detail btw: technically, at this point, the active window is actually behind the panel: use the expo plugin (windowskey + E) to zoom out, then move a window beyond the panel and see it is actually behind the panel. since you can't usually do that i would consider that another small bug, but it unveils that compiz has the panel above the active window. -- Compiz's Panel shadows show on top of other windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 229137] Re: The user cannot select sound card
Ubuntu ships with pulseaudio and at the same time does not offer any (gui, at least) configuration tool to choose your sound card. This affects any user who has more than one sound device. The easiest solution at the moment seems to be the following: -install pavucontrol -go to the Output Devices Tab in pavucontrol, click on the arrow next to your preferred card and check Default -if you still cannot hear your stream, go to Playback Tab, click on the arrow next to your stream and Move Stream... to your preferred output device So the current situation requires everyone with more than one soundcard to research and install extra packages. Since Pulseaudio has become default, i guess the solution would be something like integrating or linking gnome-sound-properties and pavucontrol in a way that naive users (like me) can deal with ;-) -- The user cannot select sound card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229137 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [ubuntu-art] Early Breathe Submissions
Thorsten Wilms schrieb: Hi! We now have 3 items on the submissions page, all thanks to Sebastian Porta. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/BreatheIconSet/Submissions After talking with Cory, we decided that it's best if all submissions there are also announced to the list, so they can be discussed in the open. It's also a good idea to join us on IRC, #ubuntu-artwork. I already provided feedback to the artist on the first user-trash and the dictionary and don't want to repeat it here now. Cory and I are quite happy about the user-trash2. It provides a good impression of depth in the large size. This could perhaps be improved for smaller size by making the inner wall darker. The recycling logo is very nice on the large size, but perhaps the arrow heads need to stand out a bit more for smaller sizes. The shading on the main body gives a good impression of half-matt plastic. The border on the top is less convincing. Maybe it's just the lack of a shadow beneath it. The base of the bin needs to be darker. The rounded edge above the base would benefit from a smooth darker gradient. I'm not sure about the color, as I think we should avoid making everything orange, but we could get back it after other icons are in. We will likely need a few iterations, anyway. Cory was already willing to place it on the accepted icon page. With a few tweaks as mentioned above, I will agree :) user-trash2, totally agree on that, looks awesome! no more cheap gloss. (the analogy between the recycling logo and ubuntu logo is striking :-) i have a question on the dictionary icon: why is it presented from such a sideways angle, unlike the trash? i think you should keep consistent here, and the frontal view of the trash is just perfect.
