RE: Open ear bluetooth headsets and the Aftershokz Bluez
Hi Christopher, Check out the Soundband on www.kickstarter.com. However, the project was funded and closed I think just before mid September so you couldn't order one until they are actually released and will be sold normally. They are also more expensive, but are supposed to sound far superior to the Aftershokz and I very much like the fact that they can be used wirelessly with Bluetooth as well as wired. This means if you run out of juice you can plug them in and also that you can bring just one headset for travelling when you might want to use them on a plane where Bluetooth has to be turned off. They are worn behind the neck and rather than in front of your ears the soundband sits behind your ears and apparently is quite small. I did write about these back at the end of August after I heard about the Soundband on the Today in iOS podcast and about a week or 2 before the project closed. They had overwhelming support and far exceeded their funding goal. If you search the archive for Soundband you should find my post. Only other unfortunate thing about the Soundband is that they have pushed production/shipping way off into the second quarter of 2014 so it could be another half a year before I get mine and longer before they are generally available. I've read up on them on AppleVis.com, and I've reviewed some of the discussions here on this list, but before I put them on my Christmas wish list, I was wondering if there's anything else I should consider. Here are more details on what I'm looking for. I'm specifically looking for something I can use when outside to listen to GPS instructions and check information at street corners or bus stops. I want to be able to hear what's around me, so the fact that they're open ear is important to me. I'm specifically looking for the convenience of bluetooth. I just don't want to have to worry about the wire when out and about. I have plenty of other headset/headphone options to use when listening to music, so sound quality is not a major factor. I mostly want to be able to use them to hear VoiceOver. Stereo is also not a requirement. Since I'll be using them outside, I'd like them to be water resistant. They don't have to be water proof, but I don't want to worry about them if they get a little rain or sweat on them. I wear hats when it's raining, so I'd like something that's not over the head. I'd like to wear them under a hat with a brim that goes all the way around my head. I'm not too rough on things, so I'd like them to be durable, but they don't have to be super tough. The only thing I've read about the Aftershokz Bluez that give me pause is the noise bleed. Ideally, I'd also like to be able to use them in meetings, to check on notes, appointments and the like, without bothering those around me, but I usually use ear buds similar to those from Apple right now, and I could continue to do that if the bluez won't work out in that environment. From what I've read, the Aftershokz Bluez seem to meet my needs, but I'm wondering if there's something else I should be considering. For example, I had a one ear bluetooth LG headset that went around one ear and just rested outside the ear canal, which might also do the trick. Unfortunately, they don't take a charge any more. I'm curious if there are any other options like this, and how these headsets, which just sit at the entrance to the ear canal (similar to Apple's ear buds), compare to these bone conducting options. Do these open ear bone conducting headsets really give you more environmental awareness than say the Apple ear buds? thanks for your input. -- Christopher (CJ) chaltain at Gmail -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. I have been very impressed with Red Laser until just now. I tried to scan bar codes for 10 books and RL got All of them wrong. I rescanned several and it made the same errors. Re: Open ear bluetooth headsets and the Aftershokz Bluez
Thanks Sieghard, I remembered you talking about them, but I forgot they were an alternative to the Aftershokz. I read up on them at kickstarter.com and I looked up your recent post, but I still don't quite get the form factor. I know they sit behind the ears, but what holds them in place? Also, what's this battery fob they talk about? they sound pretty impressive though, and I like the fact that there's so little noise bleed. Also sounds like the sound quality should be better than the Aftershokz. I also do like the wired/wireless option, but I can see myself trying to convince a flight attendant that I'm really not using the bluetooth feature! Re: Info about the Radium Music app and XM.
Hi Scott, I had the same issue when I first attempted to log in. In my case, it was the internet account that wouldn't work, although others state they have logged in with that account. If you have another account, such as an online account, I'd try that username and password combination, and it should work. If you only have one account, then contact Sirius XM and set up the other account and then try to log in with that combination. Does anyone have any idea as to why I am having this trouble? Scott On Nov 28, 2013, at 4:39 PM, Kevin Minor kmi...@windstream.net wrote: Hi. I got the Radium app from iTunes on my PC thanks to other users of the list. I have several observations about it. First, you have to have an internet subscription with Sirius/XM to use it with their online service. I called up XM at 800-XMRADIO, (800-967-2346). I had some trouble following the instructions of the person I was talking to. I couldn’t remember my password, so he told me I needed to register with Sirius/XM. I found this strange, since I was already registered with them for my online subscription. After some going in circles, what I learned was there are two things to register for. There’s the internet subscription, where you listen to content, and there’s the online access where you can do things like pay bills and reset your internet password. I finally understood what the rep was trying to convey, and got the Radium app linked to Sirius/XM. I did this Tuesday, and didn’t get a chance until today to try it out, because Rudolph was going to be on TV, and I didn’t want to miss it. This leads me to my second observation. I haven’t used the Sirius/XM app for quite a while, but the last time I did I noticed two things. The app gave a warning of a good amount of data would be used to stream the content, and there was a time limit that the app would work until it disconnected and you had to reconnect to the channel. The Radium app doesn’t have either of these limits. Right now I’m listening to the NFL with it. I’ve been tuned in for about 5 hours, and not once have I had any disconnects or dropped feed or buffering. I’m using my WI-FI connection, but later on today I’ll be heading out for Thanksgiving dinner, and I’ll be taking my iPhone with me. Oh yeah, I’m using the app on an iPhone 4 with iOs 7.0.3, and the app is not too bad at its responsiveness. Oh yeah, I almost forgot a very important thing. The app works great with VoiceOver. That’s it from here. To get the app, on your PC, get to the iTunes store and do a search for Radium. The app was the first in the results that I found. It’s the app with music in its title. That’s all I can think of to say, except Happy Thanksgiving to you wherever you are in the world. I know that this date is mainly for us in the United States, but it’s always good to remember what we are thankful for. Besides, here in the U.S. we all know what Thanksgiving is about, besides being with family and friends, and that’s Football! Yea Lions! GO RAIDERS and GO STEELERS! Re: Netatmo Weather Station and Indoor Modules Black Friday 15% off discount through 12/2
I saw a similar promotion thru Apple Store Black Friday promotion. It isn't discounted or such, but you get a $25Apple Store give card with it. That turn out to be around 15% to 20% credit. That was in Australia Apple Store. So, my guess is that, you will get similar promotion on Apple Store or Apple online store around the world today. Regards Joanne Sent from my iPad On 29/11/2013, at 4:22 AM, Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@live.ca wrote: Thanks, Keith, for posting this. I just told another Netatmo user, Thomas, that last year they had the 15% off Black Friday promotion, but that so far I had not received a notice about it. After you posted this I checked my email and also had the notice about it now. For those who don’t own a Netatmo Weather Station and are interested, just go to http://shop.netatmo.com where you can order it. The price is $179.00 so with 15% off you get it for $152.15 and I guess you get free shipping if you are in the States. If somebody has the main weather station and wants to add additional indoor modules (3 is the maximum you can add) you can get them for $79 each, $67.15 with the discount. Netatmo is also working to release a rain and wind sensor, not sure if this will be a combined rain/wind sensor or if they will be separate. If somebody wants to know more about Netatmo you can read about it on their website and/or go to the list archive (link is at the bottom of each post) and put “Netatmo” in the search box. It’s a unique name so you only get results which are relevant. I have been Beta testing for them earlier this year and they made the readings for both the indoor and outdoor results fully Voiceover accessible. The setup process which was not very accessible at all at the beginning is now also fully accessible. When I contacted them I was the first and only blind user, but they were very open towards looking at accessibility and once they got started it was a great experience. One caution: if you still have a 3.5 inch device like an iPhone 3GS, 4 or 4S or an iPod Touch Third or Fourth Gen, the buttons to select between different indoor modules are not accessible. They are perfectly accessible on devices with a 4 inch screen and I think also on the iPad, but for 3.5 inch devices this still needs to be fixed, but I was told it will be fixed in an update fairly soon. Hi, I had a weird thing happen last night with my iPad. I went to unlock the screen and I unlocked it but the screen is black. I went to control panel and the brightness was set at 19. This morning I unlocked the screen and it is still black. I turned it off and turn it back on. I could see the apple logo when I turned it back on. The screen lock came on and I unlock it. The screen is still black. I went to control panel and the brightness is set at 67. So I do not understand why last night is was 19 and this morning after turning it on it is 67 but the screen is still black. So how do I get my screen back on. It almost like the screen is locked but I know it isn't because I can do everything on the iPad except see anything on the screen. So is there some kind of curtain that could have come on? Thanks in advance for any help on this matter. Ed -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. RE: email and other question
I'll add to Christopher's excellent comments. Many options exist for configuring your email setup to meet your needs. I use POP on my personal computer with Outlook since I got familiar with that through work and have been using POP for years. I have my Gmail account configured to move messages out of the Inbox and save them in its All Mail archive folder when they are downloaded to Outlook on my personal computer. my iPhone 5 email is configured with IMAP so I can always review anything by going to the All Mail folder with it or I can go to the Inbox to check out new messages that have come in since shutting down Outlook on my personal computer. Gmail offers in excess of 7GB for your account so having access to my entire email population is not an issue. As I said, options are available so you should be able to set up your email accounts so they do just what you need. If you're using POP, you probably don't want to use the same settings on both your phone and your PC. In general, POP will download the emails to your device and then erase them from your server, meaning you can't access your email from multiple devices. You can change these settings a bit. Here's how I had things set up when I was using POP on multiple devices. On my PC, I configured it to download my messages and remove them from the server. Therefore, whenever I checked my mail on my PC, I could take care of all of it, but I wouldn't be able to access any messages I downloaded to my PC from any other device. The PC was where I stored all of my email for future reference. On my other devices, I configured POP to download my messages to the device but leave them on my server. I further configured it to delete any messages from the server that I moved to a folder or deleted from my device. This way I could check my email on one of my devices, delete the messages I didn't have to archive or deal with later, and leave the rest on the server until I could get to my PC. It may be the case that your email is sluggish when you bring it up because all of those messages need to be downloaded. The reason you see the same messages on both your PC and your iPhone could be that you're leaving your messages on the server, and deleting them from your phone or your PC isn't deleting them from the server, so they're redownloaded every time you check your email. Note I did this until I switched to Gmail and IMAP. If you'll be dealing with your email from multiple devices, and you don't have a compelling reason to stick with POP, you might want to make the leap to IMAP. Note that there are some advantages to POP over IMAP, but they probably aren't worth it if you're going to be accessing your email from multiple devices. All of the Kindles have the screen reader built in. I bought one for my daughter several years ago so it's one of the older ones. One day she came over and brought her Kindle and mentioned it. I said can you show me that? She has a case for it as well which holds all the documentation. She looked up how to turn the accessibility on and sure as can be, the thing will read to you. It didn't have more then the very basics like play/stop and some basic skip forward or back but never the less, it's there. I don't believe though that it would read the list of titles but then again, this was like 2 years ago. She says her girlfriend has a new kindle and her friend says it too can read to the blind. I think for myself, I'll stick with the BARD app. Regards, Alan Go Chicago Bears in 2013! Teenagers; Tired of being harassed by your stupid parents? Act now! Move out. Get a job. One tiny update to Alan's information below. You now get 15G of storage between Gmail, Google Drive and Google Plus. Not long ago, Google merged the storage for these services, so you no longer have the greater than 7G limit on Gmail, although 15G is greater than 7G! Re: black screen on iPad
You know what's creepy? My grandmother's iPad did the exact same thing this morning, yet she's not a Voiceover user. It persists even after a restart and a home/power reset. Like you, we can see the Apple logo appear, but after the booting is done the screen goes black. The iPad seems to be working, though, since it makes a sound when it is plugged in and that initial boot goes fine. I just find the timing to be very odd. RE: Open ear bluetooth headsets and the Aftershokz Bluez
Hi Christopher, I don't think a flight attendant would ever know they are Bluetooth if there is a cable connected. I actually look forward to having them because these nasty people (the flight attendants I mean) always make you take off your headset during take-off and landing and they don't even ask if the hero in the book I am listening to is about to kick butt *SMILE*. I think with these they wouldn't bother since you don't have them on your ears so I can probably fool them and the thought of that gives me great satisfaction *smile*. What does worry me a bit are the comments on their backers only portal which I just registered for. Some people there are commenting how it is strange that the company, Hybra, decided to launch this website where backers can register and get updates by logging in. Some backers on there who say they have backed dozens of projects are concerned why Hybra is not pushing out these updates about the product via Kickstarter and say that normally they are supposed to do this based on the contract they have with Kickstarter. Some backers go as far as to say that they think this is all a big scam and that they won't deliver and I certainly hope this is not the case. This is the first Kickstarter project I have backed and if it turns out I am out $155 US then it will also be the last. Well, let's hope for the best; the product does sound very good. If you are a Twitter user which I am not, maybe you could check out their Twitter postings and send me a message directly to siegh...@live.ca and let me know what people are saying about this on Twitter and if Hybra is responding. Take care, Sieghard -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Christopher Chaltain Sent: Friday, November 29, 2013 1:26 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Open ear bluetooth headsets and the Aftershokz Bluez Thanks Sieghard, I remembered you talking about them, but I forgot they were an alternative to the Aftershokz. On 11/29/2013 02:58 AM, Sieghard Weitzel wrote: Hi Christopher, Check out the Soundband on www.kickstarter.com. Fleksy Update and Technical Problem
I noticed this morning when trying to use Fleksy on my iPhone 5 that the app would not open because of a supposed new update. Unfortunately, when selecting ok to go to the Apps Store to get the update, no option was available there to get it. Also, the iTunes Store still shows version 1.9 as the latest version and that is the version I'm running. I wrote Fleksy Tech Support and they said they were aware of the issue and that it should be corrected with the next release. They said I might want to change the time setting on my iPhone to move it back a few days in order for my current Fleksy to keep working. I'm not interested in doing that since it could affect other apps. Fleksy Tech Support did not answer my questions about the nature of the specific problem nor why they were forcing users to upgrade to the new version. I just wanted other users to be aware of this issue. Alan Lemly -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. RE: Fleksy Update and Technical Problem
Hi Alan, That is definitely interesting and something I have never seen an app do. Just as you said, when I try to open Fleksy it gives me the following message: Fleksy Update There are new features on the App Store, Update Now. There is only an OK button and if I press it, the App Store opens and Fleksy is there, but there is no update button, just an Open button and if I tap it I am straight back to the message about updating. I don't think I ever came across an app which when you opened it told you there was an update. Normally you would just see the update in the App Store at some point when you can then decide if you want to install it or not. I guess with an app like Fleksy where accessibility is pretty much guarantied there is no reason why you shouldn't upgrade, but it must really be some glitch how it is doing this right now. Well, I guess no Fleksy until they fix it. Let's hope they won't do that again, sh** happens and let's give them the benefit of the doubt by which I mean let's not get too upset unless they do the same again with the next update. Take care, Sieghard From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Alan Lemly Sent: Friday, November 29, 2013 10:36 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Fleksy Update and Technical Problem I noticed this morning when trying to use Fleksy on my iPhone 5 that the app would not open because of a supposed new update. Voice to Voice by Sparkling Apps: Please Assist
Yesterday, someone posted about this app, stating that the developer seemed willing to work on making it more accessible, but that it was somewhat usable with VoiceOver. I downloaded the app, and all I am getting is a list of languages, which seem to repeat, and does not even display all sixteen languages purported to be covered in the description. I can find no description of how to use the app. There is no speak button, no indication of how one chooses the language one speaks and the one you wish your words translated into. I am finding it to be totally incomprehensible from the standpoint of accessibility. If someone could please give me some direction, a podcast, tutorial, something which would perhaps shed some light on how to use this app, I would appreciate it. Thank you. email in junk which cannot be deleted or moved
Asking for a friend. She has a regular iPad bought in 2012, not sure what it is called but same as mine. She was doing email and checking junk. Two emails were in junk, but these 2 emails she cannot delete or move anywhere. I had her completely turn off iPad and turn back om. They were still there and still could not be deleted or moved. Next I had her do a reboot holding home and off/on button for 10 seconds. They are still there and not able to be deleted or moved. Anything else we can try? Could she somehow have a virus? Fwd: [IDevices] {Disarmed} FW: Correct How Siri Pronounces Names in iOS
Sent from my iPhone Begin forwarded message: From: Denny Huff de...@gatewayfortheblind.com Date: November 29, 2013 at 4:09:12 PM EST To: 'IDevices Group' idevi...@gatewayfortheblind.com Subject: [IDevices] {Disarmed} FW: Correct How Siri Pronounces Names in iOS Reply-To: de...@gatewayfortheblind.com Feed: OS X Daily Posted on: Friday, November 29, 2013 12:54 PM Author: Paul Horowitz Subject: Correct How Siri Pronounces Names in iOS While Siri is great at pronouncing some common names, Siri can also completely blunder on others, turning a first or last name into an almost unrecognizable mess of noises that barely resembles the way the name actually sounds. Fortunately, iOS now makes it very easy to correct Siri directly and verbally, so the next time Siri messes up you can instantly fix the pronunciation and get her to speak the right way. Or you can preempt any mistake, and with names that you anticipate Siri to mispronounce you can correct before the virtual assistant has a chance to screw it up by teaching her (or he!) the right way to say a name. Correcting Siri Name Mispronuncations Use this trick after Siri has messed up a name: Summon Siri as usual, either by holding down the Home button or the earbud button Tell Siri “That’s not how you pronounce [name]“ Provide the proper pronunciation for the name in question Let Siri provide three alternate pronunciations for the name based upon your verbal input, listen to the three, and choose “Select” for the most accurate method of pronunciation Teach Siri How to Properly Pronounce a Name Would you rather teach Siri of the proper way to pronounce a name? Summon Siri and say: “Pronounce the name [name] as [pronunciation]“ Let Siri confirm the name from the contacts, choose “Yes” or “No” as needed to move to the next step Select the best of the three options Siri has offered as the pronunciation based upon your speech If the three pronunciation examples that Siri provides are way off, tap on “Tell Siri Again” to offer the proper way again. For the most part it will offer a close-enough option in at least one of the initial three, but if Siri completely fails then tap the Tell Again option and annunciate each distinct syllable a bit closer. Repeat this as necessary for names that Siri is mispronouncing, and you can also choose to correct either the first name and last name, or go all in one and correct the entire names pronunciation if the assistant is butchering the whole thing. Fixing the pronunciation is also important for improved name recognition for contacts with defined relationships, and just natural language commands in general. This works the same on the iPad and iPhone, so long as the device as Siri support and at least iOS 7.0 or newer. Prior to iOS 7, users had to go about adding the phonetic spelling of a name to fix (or at least improve) how Siri pronounced names. The phonetic spelling trick continues to work, and if the verbal pronunciation correction doesn’t fix how she/he speaks the name, it may still be the only option. Re: Can't proof read messages
Apple has modified the way VO tracks in edit fields. There are many messages discussing this in the archives. Several of these messages claim it is a bug. In point of fact, it does not appear to be a bug. It appears to be a change which makes VO more consistent across apps. What is happening is VO moves the cursor to the precise line where you touch in the edit box. Therefore, you need to pay more attention when typing using the onscreen keyboard. To get VO to read the entire edit box, flick into it rather than touching it and VO reads the entire box. All that said, I have discovered editing to be easier with this new tracking method. If you wish for the previous way of editing, send an email to: accessibil...@apple.com After all, Apple does respond when they receive many messages if it fits into their overall usability focus. Re: Can't proof read messages
Normal behavior! I dislike it too as easy to touch while writing. To read back, touch mear the right top of the screen and flick right until you get to the body of your message. It should read when it gets there but if not, swipe down with 2 fingers. To go back when writing and accidentally touching the text area, use words in your rotor to find your spot by flicking to the left or if you think you have touched higher on the message flick right. Hope this helps and is clear and not mud. Re: black screen on iPad
When VoiceOver is on, the screen curtain can be toggled on and off. When VoiceOver is off, there is no screen curtain. Therefore, VoiceOver is on on the person's device. If the person does not use VoiceOver, the person accidentally activated it with a triple tap of the home button. This means, the home button has been set up for VoiceOver. Triple tapping the home button will turn VoiceOver off and the screen curtain will deactivate, leaving the screen visually usable. Of course, three-finger triple tap always toggles screen curtain when VoiceOver is running. Re: email in junk which cannot be deleted or moved
I have this problem on ocasion. Here is what I have to do to get the messages to delete from mail First, have your friend to try clearing mail from the app switcher. Then reopen mail to see if the messages have been deleted. If not, have her to try deleting the messages once again, then immediately close mail and remove mail from the app switcher. Reopen mail, in most cases this will clear the unwanted messages from mail for me. When this doesn't work, I have my mail setup so that I can download my mail onto my computer. If she has her mail setup to be able to check her mail on a computer, have her to try moving the messages into the inbox mail folder, then checking her mail on a desktop/laptop commputer. This should download the unwated messages onto her computer where she will be able to delete them. Hope this helps. Donna Asking for a friend. Re: Red Laser
Hi Gary and Sandy, I'm not sure that you'll be able to change the database of Red Laser's barcode IDs, for users who are outside the U.S. The original Red Laser app and fast scanning recognition method was developed by Occipital, who provided the ability to do a general Google search on the bar code. This was a paid app, but only $0.99. Because the app was so successful, eBay purchased it, and released it as a free app. For a few months after, there were two versions of the Red Laser app, one named Red Laser Classic that was based on the original Occipital release, that worked as a general purpose app, and a second that is the current Red Laser app, that is meant to drive the U.S. eBay related sales. So basically this stopped being a general purpose bar code scanning app once eBay bought it from Occipital. I still have the loser, original Red Laser Classic app, and it works up through iOS 6, but it hasn't been available for over a year. Hope this explanation helps. It's not such a problem for U.S. users, but it is an issue for anyone using it in another country. Re: black screen on iPad
It turns out that the reset I did earlier fixed it, and no one bothered to tell me. shrug I've never seen that particular problem - it was exactly like Voiceover's screen curtain was on, but I can guarantee that Voiceover was not on at all. This means, the home button has been set up for VoiceOver. Triple tapping the home button will turn VoiceOver off and the screen curtain will deactivate, leaving the screen visually usable. Help in creating folders on the iPad mini using the latest ios please
Hello, everybody, Hope everybody has a wonderful thanksgiving. I am having trouble creating folders on my iPad... I know how to create folders by double tapping and holding and dragging over top of the other app. I am not able to accomplish this on my iPad mini. Here is what I am doing... Please double check it to make sure it is right and whether your iPad is working fine with this. I am taking the reminders over the calendar for example. 1. I double tap and hold on calendar. Voiceover says, moving calendar. 2. I drag my finger left of calendar and voiceover says, on reminders. 3. I have held my finger on top of it for at least 30 seconds with no luck. 4. When I lifted my finger, it did not create my folder. Please help! I am able to do this on my phone, why not on the iPad? Is it any different? Thank you in advance, P.S. It almost like the screen is locked but I know it isn’t because I can do everything on the iPad except see anything on the screen. So is there some kind of curtain that could have come on? Thanks in advance for any help on this matter. Ed -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Re: The Alert Me TV App
Try TV Show Tracker by Pixel-Perfect Widgets. It is FREE. That is the one I use and it is very VoiceOver friendly. I have it set to alert me 15 minutes before a show is to air, but I believe you can change this in settings. There is an add button at the top left that allows you to add a show that you want alerts for. To look at all of the shows you have already added, double tap on the button at the bottom underneath the schedule button. There is a button at the top that just says button and when I double tap on it, I can't seem to find a way to go back except to close the app and remove it from the app switcher. I don't know what this page is for, but I don't ever use it since I can't find a way to go back. This app has come in handy many many times and I would not be without it. -Original Message- From: Patti Johnson Sent: Friday, November 29, 2013 4:04 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: The Alert Me TV App It apparently does not work with voiceover. Good thing it's free, but when I installed it just now it asks to be allowed to give me push notifications and I okayed that and now I get nothing. Very disappointing since I love that tv channel. searching for ringtones in itunes
Hey guys, Anyone have a clue of how to search for ringtones in itunes? I do not have an option to type in text on the iphone. I bring up settings, and go to sounds, ringtones, and then store, and click on search. There is no way I can type stuff in. Any ideas? Re: iPad mini cases with detachable keyboard
I do not know if there is more than one model. I remember that it cost $99.00 at the Apple store here in town. Re: searching for ringtones in itunes
After tapping on search at the bottom of the screen, there is a search box near the top of the screen, if you tap on the search box the virtual keyboard will appear on your iPhone. Type in your song/sound quary followed by the word ringtone, tap search and your results will be displayed.
