Thank You!  That did it!  Seems to me I tried everything, can't think how I 
missed tapping.  Although I had started by focusing on getting it done on the  
Mac.  No matter, I'm all for simple so this is great!

all you need to do is when you have the email open with the contact in it, 
double tap on that vcf file, then keep swiping right to where you hear voice 
over say add to contact.

Adding Contact Card To Contacts

Good morning,
Someone sent a contact card to me from their iPhone contact's list  via email 
and I haven't been able to figure out how to add it to my contacts, or how to 
open it.  I'd be happy to learn how to do this on either (or both) my iPhone 
and/or my Mac.

when I tried I did everything I could think of and i still couldn't find the

Phone Numbers And Text Messages

Good morning,
I was wondering about a couple of things:  First, is it possible to find out 
what phone number a text message was sent from if it isn't sent from a number 
in your contacts?  I received one the other day and all I can get from it is an 
email address.

Second, can one add a phone  number from a text message to a contact's info?

I'm running IOS 13.7 in case that changes things.

now I just want to read through this book I'd love to really know what I'm

Thank you, I have downloaded the app and bought my book, found it in my 
library, ... that's the good news!  Now sorry but any chance someone could 
please explain how exactly I get to read it?  I found the table of contents and 
tried double tapping the introduction link but that didn't do it.  I've read 
all about the available fonts and explored several other options that I'd have 
happily lived without but my book I cannot read!

Kindle Books On The iPhone?

is it possible to read a Kindle  book on an iPhone (running 13.7)?  The books 
description says  screen reader  enabled but I've no idea if that makes it 
accessible.

When I follow an account I tap  on the profile, and find the follow button 
between the profile picture and the account's blurb.  I'm doing this on the 
phone so I just start at the top and swipe right a few times until the follow 
button comes up.  If there is a way to follow without first going to the 
profile I'm not familiar with it (which definitely does Not mean there isn't 
one).  I am very fussy about the accounts I choose to follow so I usually 
prefer to go to their profile first any way.  If you are using the Phone app 
than you can also follow when you are on a tweet.

Wondering what is the easiest way to add a photo to a tweet in the Twitter app? 
 And is there any way to verify (before tweeting) that it is there and 
hopefully displaying correctly?

Voice Over And Twitter App

Good evening,
Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent voice over from naming/describing 
the symbols/emojis while using the twitter app?  Having to have the coloured 
hearts, flowers, hands, etc., etc. read out gets very tiresome very quickly.

Hand-writing IN Rotor

Good evening,
I just read about this feature in the rotor, it is new to me and I went to 
check it out.  I'd really like to make use of it, however, when I bring it up 
it is saying lower case and I'm afraid my printing doesn't extend to lower case 
letters.  Is there a way to  switch  hand-writing to upper case?

For me it really has nothing to do with the update.  I haven't updated to 13.6 
yet, and the first time it happened was before 13.5.  But as mentioned it is 
intermittent!  I can set alarms and have them go off without a problem for a 
week or more, then one doesn't.  The intermittency is why I decided to ask on 
list rather than going straight to Apple Support.

Complicated  is beginning to have more appeal!  But in the early days or when 
in a rush (or having almost forgotten and already in bed) calling out to Siri 
can be useful.

Siri Not Setting Alarms

Good morning,
Just wondering if anyone else has run across this issue?  Its been happening to 
me (intermittently) over the last two months.  A couple of times I wondered if 
Maybe, just Possibly I slept through it but the last times it happened that 
wasn't an option.   I've  started checking manually to verify my alarms are on 
(when I want them to be) but (obviously) that rather erases the point of using 
Siri to begin with.

In my case the phone was unlocked (I almost never do lock it) and it was tried 
with both the app closed and open.  These calls were always prearranged  ,I was 
waiting for them so while there were other apps open in the background I wasn't 
doing anything on the phone at the time.

Yes!  I had this precise problem.  When   someone sighted checked it  seemed 
the answer button was showing up high where you would normally look for the 
status bar.  I haven't had many opportunities to test this out and still feel 
very uncomfortable about receiving calls via What's App simply because I am not 
positive I will be able to answer.  And no, a two finger double tap didn't work 
for me.

I too would  be interested in hearing any suggestions or possible fixes.

I've attended two meetings  where break out rooms wer eused.  Perhaps it has 
something to do with how the host handles the set up, in one meeting I did 
indeed need to do nothing.  In the other Voice over read out  that I had been 
assigned to  break out room one and had to tap the button to join the room.

I've found that going to the home screen solves the problem of having voice 
over reading incoming messages etc. while allowing me to open   the app 
switcher and return to the Zoom screen quickly if I do need to interact or 
check something.  

I haven't been able to use it on the Mac and after my first experience when I 
was unable to stop the chat feed being read out I must admit I haven't tried 
very hard.

Think that is more less what I'll do Sieghart.  I would rather look after it 
now but trying to do this via email will be too time consuming so I'll wait and 
hope the phone centre opens soon.

Re the actual app, my player tab went away for weeks but then returned so you 
may be right, a reinstall is probably a good idea just to make sure it is all 
running properly.  According to the info I do have the most recent version.  As 
far as the differences noted I wondered if the app might be related to the 
websites?  Audible.ca and audible.com are separate (and if you've ever tried 
getting a book transferred from one to another then you know they make a big 
deal of that separateness!) so I thought maybe the apps were connected to the 
respective websites.  Just an idea..

something simple I just wasn't doing!

Since it is side tracking the topic I'll simply say there was a time before I 
had an iPhone or direct access to my Audible books when someone else had access 
to my account.  They got in the habit of treating it as an extension of there 
own account.I now have namy books in it that I never bought and never will 
read.  I want them out of there!  If the phone line was open I probably would 
have dealt with it that way, however, regardless of the reason there should be 
a method to remove a book from displaying in your cloud library.

In any case hope that clarifies things and if anyone does run across a method 
I'd adore hearing about it.  And I do hope that we also have the ability to 
delete books easily in the Canadian app in the near future because there are 
definitely some titles I would like to know are there if I want them but have 
no need to clutter up the phone with.

My selections are significantly different.  I did only have four tabs at the 
bottom for sometime but in the last week or so I went back to having five: 
home, library, player, discover and profile.  I do still have the cloud and 
device buttons at the top.

Ihave my  apps set to automatically update and my other apps are up to 
date..  I did just go look a few minutes ago (but unwisely went to check 
several other options before writing), think it said this is version 3.24.1.  
Doesn't make sense to me that the app would be different in the US and Canada 
but that of course may well be the case.

You're right, it is fascinating since I don't have an unread option!  I can 
sort by: recent, length, title and author.  That's all of my choices.

I'd love to call them but at least here in Canada they've closed the phone line 
so that option isn't currently available and I am really fed up of having so 
many excess titles.

Thank you, that's good to know since the old way of removing a book from the 
phone was a pain!  However, I actually want to get the titles out of the 
library so I don't have to sort through unwanted books when selecting my next 
download.  (Sorry for not making that clear before!)   It is in the library 
that I find the delete button near the refresh and sort by .  buttons. Any 
ideas would be really appreciated!

And I'm also running the most recent IOS software and I believe my Audible app 
is up to date but I haven't manually checked.  But this isn't a change it has 
always been like this.

Deleting Books In The Audible App?

Could someone please explain how one deletes books in the app?  I see the 
delete button there (dimmed) so I know it is possible and that 'I'm missing 
something.

Perhaps sending a quick note to the app developer might either help you find 
the fix or express the need for the feature to be reinstated if it really isn't 
there any more.  If you tap contact us (think it is in settings) you'll get an 
email address .  I wrote once just passing on a couple of trivial thoughts and 
suggestions and got a response within hours and had a lovely little exchange 
about the app and some of my thoughts about it.

Thanks Sieghard!  .  I really don't get along well with Siri although I have 
gotten her to set a straight forward alarm.  I think I asked her to set a daily 
one a while back and ended up, ... lets go with frustrated and no alarm.  That 
said knowing that she Should do it I may try again, ... one day, when I'm 
feeling happy and relaxed and don't mind that changing!

Thank you but no that is not what I was referring too.  I've gone and checked 
for the link and it actually is www.blindyoga.net   
in case anyone is interested.  From a very quick look I believe that this set 
of exercises includes beginners  but unlike the other site continues, 
progressing  through to much more advance poses than the other site offers

I don't know of any apps, however, there is an excellent  programme , I can't  
remember its name off the top of my head but I found it by searching for blind 
yoga on google.  One of it's co-creators is blind and it is available as a 
digital download.  If you have trouble finding it let me know and I'll go 
looking for my copy to find its precise name etc.

Displaying Folders In Voice Dream Reader

Good day,
I've been importing  a wide variety of files into my Voice Dream Reader.  I'm 
delighted with how it reads them and how simple it is to move between files and 
resume reading where you paused.  However, with the increasing number of files 
I wanted to organize them and make bouncing between topics etc. faster and 
simpler.  So I set up folders and (supposedly) added files to them.  However, I 
cannot figure out how to bring up a list of folders and/or open them.  All my 
files are still jumbled together in the one folder and for a variety of reasons 
this is becoming a problem.  Any advice on accessing the folders would be most 
appreciated.

Also could someone please be so kind as to share the subscription information 
for the Voice Dream list?  I have a feeling I'll be needing a little more help 
as I continue to explore it.

We also went through the short supplies but things like toilet paper and 
sanitizer are coming back into stock, think that will happen fairly soon.  for 
most people.   But  re the alcohol, this is one case when higher is not better. 
 The 70% is best because it has enough water content to help break open the 
virus.  The higher percentages are actually less effective and apparently the 
99% is next to useless.  Bleach water solution works too though so one could 
give something like a thermometer  a wipe down with a bleach solution  (10% is 
sufficient , then rinse off the thermometer in clean water.

My talking thermometer  actually goes in the ear, and works very fast which I'e 
always found handy.

I'm someone else who would love to see a new phone in  a smaller size to more 
easily fit my smaller hands.  That said the idea of being able to get a new 
phone (when the time comes) that is the same size as my 8 is cheering since the 
thought of having to cope with an even larger phone was not one I relished.

Re the mini player, the full one is still available: if you flick left from the 
play button (twice I think) it will say mini player.  Tap on there and the full 
player opens.  That it reverts to the mini player without rhyme or reason is 
very irritating!

I use a logitech K380 keyboard which doesn't have a keypad, however, I have 
dialled and entered numbers using the number row at the top of the board 
without a problem.  A couple of times those numbers wouldn't work but I found 
using the VO arrows to find the correct number on the phone and clicking on it 
also worked fine.
