It is good, most the time, I had a bit of flaky issue with it when out today. But how? please, their web pages tells it all better, quicker and more thoroughly than on here; and it's been covered so often now, just take a read of the user guide, it's all there and pretty straight forward, honest! Re: How do you'll type very long messages on your Iphone?
Hello! Personally, I use Braille Touch to type long messages It's an awesome app I am really fast at it but I have to set it words and characters both because even if I get annoyed with both, I set it to words only, it freezes on me frequently and it is frustrating. The developer already knows and is working hard on it. So yeah. But I use this to type long messages. I hate the on screen keyboard. Even with the touch typing. Or I use my BT Keyboard if I don't have it handy, I use braille touch. Hope that helps. Good luck. On 5/17/13, BHAVESH charmingbhav...@gmail.com wrote: Hi all, I am thinking to purchase an Iphone 4g. Re: How do you'll type very long messages on your IPhone?
I do long messages from the regular messages app. I dictate them, though, several sentences at a time. I can check over what I dictated and then dictate some more. Another way I do long messages is to use the app zerotap. With this I can go to the zerotap website on my computer, type in the magic box and the words instantly appear on my iPhone when I open the zerotap app. Then I just tap to copy and open the messages app where I paste it in. Super easy. Some of us use Bluetooth keyboards, whilst others use apps for the blind such as Fleksy or BrailleTouch. I love BrailleTouch and don't get on well with Fleksy personally. Re: How do you'll type very long messages on your Iphone?
Hi Bhavesh, I have an iPhone 4 and sometimes use it to do my email. I was writing short replies when I was typing my replies on the virtual on screen keyboard. That works fine most of the time but there are times when a line or two just doesn't cut it. You either send that person a message saying I've made a note of this and will reply in greater detail when I get to a computer. Better then nothing but doesn't really resolve the problem. I bought myself an Amazon Basics Bluetooth keyboard on sail for 26 bucks from Amazon when the regular price was 45 dollars. I'm not interested in all the keyboard commands to strictly use the keyboard to control my iPhone. So, when I hit the reply button on my iPhone that brings up the on screen keyboard. That's when I switch my hands from the iPhone to the Amazon Basics Bluetooth wireless keyboard. As I start typing, it appears on the screen of my iPhone. Misspelled words are corrected in the usual way. When I'm finished typing I put my hands back on my iPhone and send the message. Given this description and method of use, the only thing you need to know about the keyboard is where the power button is and the recessed paring button oh and where the battery compartment is. The keyboard is roughly 10 inches long, 5 inches from top to bottom and maybe a half inch thick at it's widest. It runs off of 2 double (A) batteries. This keyboard does not fold so you can slip it in a backpack etc. I did buy the cover for another 20 bucks and it's a pretty nice little case. It's soft black canvice on the outside with fleece inside. The keyboard is a bit tight to fit in the case when you first get it but that eases up after some use. If your going to carry it around with you, I'd strongly recommend getting the case. If your going to use it mostly at home then save the 20 bucks and order a pizza with it. Re: How do you'll type very long messages on your Iphone?
There are also apps for the mac and even for the Pc to allow you to type text and transfer it to your device. Type2Phone for the Mac and EasyPush for the Pc are two examples. Type2Phone emulates a hardware bluetooth keyboard for your device, while EasyPush is a companion to the free Ubidisk file manager for iOS and allows you, amongst other things, to transfer text typed into the EasyPush app to your device. Another way I do long messages is to use the app zerotap. With this I can go to the zerotap website on my computer, type in the magic box and the words instantly appear on my iPhone when I open the zerotap app. Then I just tap to copy and open the messages app where I paste it in. Re: How do you'll type very long messages on your Iphone?
I've been known to use the on screen keyboard, even for long messages, but generally for longer messages, I either use a Verbatim bluetooth keyboard paired with my iPhone or wait until I get home and use my computer. When I use the Verbatim keyboard, I use the keyboard commands to simulate VO gestures, so that keeps me from moving back and forth between the keyboard and the touch screen, although sometimes there are a few things that are just easier to find on the touch screen. To review text, you can use a VO gesture called the roter to adjust whether you're moving by character, word or line. Once you have that set, you can then just flick up or down to move according to what you just set with the roter. What would what be? Are you asking for the VO gestures you can simulate with the keyboard? If so, I myself started with http://www.hllf.net/70 but this issue has come up quite a bit recently on this list and there are a lot of other resources out there with even more information on them. Re: How do you'll type very long messages on your Iphone?
Sorry, when I said I'll use my computer when I got home, I meant that I'll pull up thunderbird and respond to the message in Thunderbird from my computer. I wasn't referring to any way to enter text from my PC to my iPhone, although others use different apps and applications to do this. As far as a cable to connect your iPhone 5 to your PC, your iPhone 5 should have come with a cable that has a Lightning plug on one end and a USB plug on the other end. The Lightning plug plugs into the bottom of your iPhone and the USB plug goes into your computer. This is the same plug you use to plug into the AC charging cube. Hi Chris, I feel stupid now.lol It never occurred to me that the charging cable would do the job. Sorry excuse my stupidity. How does one use braille touch on a small iPhone screen? I've never heard of this app and it sounds really promising. RE: How do you'll type very long messages on your Iphone?
As many have stated, many alternatives exist for typing long messages on the iPhone. I personally prefer the Fleksy app. I was horrible with it at first but like everything else, practice does make perfect. And they've improved some problems I didn't like about it with their latest version. Fleksy presents a keyboard with oversized letters on the bottom third of the screen. It is laid out like a regular keyboard but with only the letters. You type near where you believe the letter you want to be and Fleksy sounds an audible click as each letter is selected. It then does an amazing job at selecting the word it thinks you were typing. If it's wrong, you can swipe up and down with a single finger to choose from other alternatives. It really is quite amazing and gets better the more you use it. Good luck. Re: Braille Touch was Re: How do you'll type very long messages on your Iphone?
Hi. I will try to explain this as well as I can. You hold the phone with the screen facing away from you so the home button is on the left. You hold either end of the iphone in your hands so you have 3 fingers from each hand on the screen. Your left index, middle and ring fingers are dots 1, 2, and 3 and your right index, middle and ring fingers are 4, 5, and 6. the help section explains it better than I can but that's basically how you type in braille on your iphone.
