RE: Wondering about Radium
Hi Terri, I'll answer your question, but this one can be easily checked by looking up Radium on the app store which is what I did, here is the link: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/radium-for-internet-radio/id684034823?mt=8 Here it says that version 1.1.1 was released on September 17, 2017 and it was simply an update to 64 bit. I would appear to me that this app is no longer updated, the developer made it 64 bit to extend its life, it probably works for many people but I wouldn't count on it receiving updates very often. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Terri Stimmel Sent: Tuesday, March 20, 2018 1:41 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Wondering about Radium Hello once more everyone, This will be my last question for now. Re: Sirius xm on radium
Hello Terri, On the main screen, just double tap on Find More Stations. This will bring you to a screen with a search field. Just type Sirius and the number or name of the station.. Be sure to double tap the search button, it is to the right of the space bar on the keyboard. Hope this helps. Re: Has radium content changed
Thanks for writing back so quickly :-) it's working: I went into settings and in both device and iCloud storage deleted the data, turned off the phone, turned it back on, and re-downloaded the app. The simulcasts for both Fox and CNN came back into my search results, and even found CNN International, which I didn't know XM carried. Update On Radium Issue
Hi all. So if you remember, I posted an issue with Radium where the app isn't connecting to any Siriusxm station. Well, it's been 5 days and still no luck connecting. I phoned Siriusxm today and almost cancelled my service but the person who I talked to assured me that they haven't stopped support for Radium, and therefore the issue has something to do with the developer. This contradicted what I heard from another employee that they have stopped support for Radium. In any event, I suggest that if anyone has the app, especially for the Mac users like myself that have paid $10 for it, please flood their mailboxes asking them to fix the issue. I've been emailing and tweeting them, but it seems like they've been ignoring my messages and tweets so if everyone else does this, it would help. Their email is supp...@catpigstudios.com <mailto:supp...@catpigstudios.com>. Good luck. Re: radio services and how to listen with Radium
You should be able to play lots of radio stations without having to sign up for anything. If you are already a subscriber to something such as XM for instance, you can log in with in radium to your ex M account, and then you will be able to access those stations. Otherwise, there are thousands and thousands of stations that should play without a problem and without you needing to sign up for a service. Can you describe the steps you took, which station it was etc.? Hi richard, Your findings are the same as mine. If you flick, you can't get past the first station, you just going to loop. But you can explore down the screen. Not perfect, but it works. And maybe the good folks there who developed the app will figure out why the flicking doesn't work and fix it. Re: 64 bit radium not working after upgrade
Hi Mary, Radium is working fine here with iOS 11. I would suggest that your friend try touching various parts of the screen, rather than just flicking. I can flick to the More Options and Find More Stations buttons, but with some apps, you can touch things that you can't flick to. Re: 64 bit radium not working after upgrade
Your friend is right. It goes in a loop when you flick right after the more options button it just goes back to the station that is selected. If you slide your finger down the screen, you will find the other stations. Not a good sign. 64 bit radium not working after upgrade
Hello all. This is the verbatim text of an email I got from a friend of mine who is very upset that he has lost the usability of Radium after upgrade. Re: iOS radium users rejoice the update for 64 bit is out!
I had mixed results when I briefly tried the app on my iPad. The serious XM station work fine, and a couple of Russian stations did not. But those fees are always questionable, so I'm writing the failure off to that. Still also on iOS 10 on the iPad, so I wonder if it is an iOS 11 issue. Richard, did you try a couple of different stations? Re: Radium
Hello, I will also continue to use Radium as long as it works! I have not had any problems so far, but it is sad to know that it is no longer being updated. Since I primarily use it to listen to my Sirius XM stations, I went searching the app store to see if there were any other apps out there that will do the same thing. And to my dismay, I could not find any third party apps out there that streams subscription internet radio stations like Sirius XM. To bad an app something like Tune In would not add a feature like that to listen to subscription based internet radio stations. That way everything would be included in one app. Chris > On Nov 4, 2016, at 11:29 AM, Mary Otten <motte...@gmail.com> wrote: > > As long as it works, I will keep using it. RE: Radium
Oh well. I'll still use the app even if it's not being developed anymore. It's still far more accessible than the native Sirius XM app. And besides, look at Ootunes. It hasn't been updated in god knows how long and I'm betting that it still works with iOS 10. Yes, I had the same problem, with whatever station I chose subsequent to the first choice just not playing. I also had the warning message from Apple, so I just removed Radium. I just duplicated that problem. I launched Radium and BBC Radio 4 Extra, played, though after a longish pause. Then I tried BBC World Service. Nothing came through. I waited a couple minutes. Hi Mary and Richard. I have Radium on my iPhone because I use it for Sirius XM as well and every station I have in favorites plays including stations outside Sirius. I too got the warning but I shrugged it off and used it anyway as I have other apps on it that do that and they still work. This is on an iPhone SE. Re: Radium
Mary, I just deleted Radium and re-downloaded it again and it is playing much better, and I didn't get the warning this time. I re-downloaded it from my purchases. So, you might give that a try. Re: How to find a radio station in Radium app
Hi Ed. I have Radium on my Mac and iPhone as well. On the iPhone, I typed in AFR and it gave me several radio stations with that search. Does the radio station have a specific name or is it just afr.net? If it's just the website name, contact the developers of Radium by email at supp...@catpigstudios.com and request that the station be added. They're quite quick on their responses and very helpful. Good luck. If the search didn't not bring up the radio station, I guess it's not available. I honestly can't remember if radiant lets you enter custom URLs or not, as I have never been interested in doing that. Re: Question about Genre and Save Buttons in Radium Internet Radio App
Hello, everyone. Through reading about the features of the Radium app and through email correspondence with the company responsible for it, I figured out how I got into the menu with the Save button and buttons labeled with icon names. Perhaps the reason may prove helpful to someone. There is a Change Icon button that allows the user to change the icon associated with a radio station. The icon denotes the kind of service the station streams, such as jazz, classical, talk, etc. The Save button allows the user permanently to change the icon. This button is not accessible via VoiceOver, but if it is pressed by accident, the Change Icon menu appears. The Radium rep I wrote to said she would report the problem to the developer for fixing in a future release. Craig On 6/3/15, Craig Werner coffeeb...@gmail.com wrote: Hello, everyone. Radium isn't working on my iPhone 5C.
Hi. I was going to listen to a hockey game on Radium. I used this app with no problem on my old iPhone 4. I brought up the app on my 5C, and whenever I attempted to tap on the skip tutorial option I was sent to my home screen. Anyone else having this problem? Thankfully I have another app that I can use to listen to the NHL playoffs. Kevin Minor, Lexington, KY -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. Re: Radium update for iOS
Hi Mary. Surprisingly, they didn't break accessibility on the iPhone version of Radium. Anna, I think Mary's talking about the fact that in the OS X version, you can't access favorites as easy as you could in previous versions. In the most recent versions, you have to click on an unlabelled button so you can see your favorites and sometimes when you click on it it doesn't do anything. I've emailed the developers about this issue a while back and yet they haven't fixed it. So I understand why Mary's so reluctant to update the iOS version. Luckily Mary, you don't have to worry because I'm using it and it appears nothing's broken. Re: Sirius xm on radium
If you already have a SiriusXM subscription with your radios, then all you need to do is to add an Internet subscription to that, which is normally pretty inexpensive. To add an Internet subscription to your existing lifetime subscription should be less than $10 a month, And it is at least worth it to just call SiriusXM to see what kind of deal they can offer you. Chris, you are correct. I have a lifetime subscription and I believe I pay about $40 per year for the Internet access. So Gary should be able to work something out for an inexpensive price. Re: Sirius xm on radium
Gary, You can negotiate to some extent with Sirius. I had canceled my subscription a few years ago because of dissatisfaction regarding changes in the line up. I subsequently received a snail mail coupon encouraging me to resubscribe at a much discounted rate. The bottom line for me now is that I get the Sirius over the air package and the internet for $52.00 U.S. each six months. This is for one receiver and the internet including all NFL and MLB games. I am also confident it includes NBA and NHL. Don Roberts On 8/12/2014 9:46 PM, Gary Petraccaro wrote: Thanks. Re: Sirius xm on radium
Fox News does have its own app, but the last time I tried it, it was not the most accessible with voice over. Now, in order to access any of the SiriusXM stations, it is true, you do have to have a subscription, but as far as the price, That depends on the package you get. Now as far as accessing Fox News stations with the Radium app, it is true, SiriusXM does have a couple of Fox stations, but there is other fox news stations that you can access through the Radium app for no cost. Just open up the app, double tap on the find more stations button, then, in the edit field, just type fox news and double tap done to start your search. Now, I do not know if any of the other available fox stations is what you are looking for, but I wanted to make you aware that they were there. Hope this helps! Patty, Double tap find more stations. Then type or dictate the name of the sirius station for which you are looking. For example, right now, I am listening to the game between the Royals and the Giants. So after I double tapped find more stations, I typed in the word giants and then tapped search and found the appropriate station and double tapped to tune in. That's right, Patty. Don't type in any more than you need to. You may in fact probably will get more than one choice. For example, if I typed in the word nostalgia, I would get many hits because few people agree on what constitutes nostalgia. Re: Radium and sirius?
Hello, I started having trouble On Monday afternoon with the Radium app playing my Sirius stations. I then tried switching to the Sirius app, but the Sirius app said my log in information was invalid. So I called Sirius customer care, and was informed that Sirius was gradually making people change their passwords for security reasons. I then got my password changed for my mobile device, and the Sirius app now works for me. But the thing is that the Radium app still does not work with my Sirius stations. It accepted my new password, but none of my sirius stations will play. I am beginning to think that sirius changed something on their end that no longer lets Radium access there station feeds. I think we all need to make the developer of the Radium app aware of this, so hopefully it can be fixed. The Radium app will play other stations, just not sirius radio stations. I tried to delete the app, restart my phone, then re install the app, but it still did not work. If anyone finds a solution for this, please share it with us all!! In the meantime, I am forced to start using the sirius app. Chris Chaffin Sent from my iPhone On Aug 6, 2014, at 10:04 AM, Tim Emmons temmo...@gmail.com wrote: I just started having trouble this morning. Hi buddy, If you do a Search under Search for Stations and type in Xm or Sirius Xm, you should see a resulting list of all the Xm content offered. You can also narrow your search depending on what you're looking for. Re: Help with radium and ex M radio
You need to put something in the search box for example Siriusxm which will bring up all the stations it carries. Now that I got my XM app working again, I don't use Radium as much because it will only allow you to save a limited number of stations in favorites, and it is easier for me to navigate in the Sirius Xm app. - Original Message - From: david gross david.dgro...@gmail.com To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Friday, January 31, 2014 1:45 PM Subject: Help with radium and ex M radio Sent from my iPhone I reactivated my ex M subscription today. On the radium app, click on more options, then subscriptions where there will be two Sirius XM choices, one for XM Canada and one more for XM United States. I too have a related question. In any of these apps, is there some way to determine the Sirius XM channel number: For example, when the baseball season starts and a particular game is listed on a channel, how can one select the designated channel number? Re: Radium info needed
Hi Don, There is a podcast on the Applevis site. Go there, search for radium, and it will be the first result. There's one thing in that podcasts which is not quite accurate. That is, you can get the live sports such as NFL. The guy who did the podcast was not able to get them but if you have an XM subscription on one of their radios, you can get those games. If you are specifically interested in at Sam, open radium, open more options, then double tap subscriptions. Select XM, and enter your credentials. Then you can type sirius into the search box on the main radium screen. And you will see a whole lot of listings. It's not like music doc, in that that app had all the listings already there for you as I recall. But this has more stations than music doc does. You can also type things like Russian, which I did and hit over 500 stations. Or you can type the call letters of the station. Or you can type a music genre. Then when you have your list of stations there is a button to add each to favorites and also a play toggle. Sent from my iPhone On Dec 9, 2013, at 11:27 AM, Donald L. Re: Radium info needed
Don, I would have figured you'd gotten a response by now. I don't think you got the right app. You want Radium Player from Catpig Studios. Since you sseem to be questioning using it with Sirius Xm, let me focus on that. When the app opens, it will be loaded with one sample station. You can subscribe to various services. Hit more Options, then hit the subscriptions button. Now, find the SiriusXm USA button and enter your username and password. After doing that, I think you hit the DONE button. Now, you are back on your main screen. Go to the find more stations button and press enter. Now, you can type something in the search box. Example: type siriusXm to get a list of all SiriusXm stations. When the list comes up, there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason for how they are listed. So, my suggestion would be to flick through and when you find a station you will be wanting to listen to, add it to your favorites by double-tapping that button. I've added several that way, including a lot of sports broadcasts since contrary to Scott's review, the sports games from NFL, NHL, NBA, etc. do play through Radium if you have the appropriate SiriusXm subscription. Double-tapping the station name or double-tapping the Play toggle button will start the stream. The top of the screen will show you the song title and artist. Below that is the opening screen where you can toggle playback of that station off, or select another station from your favorites. Under options, Sound Enhancemen t is a three-band graphic equalizer that you can adjust; as well as a volume control that adjusts the playback level independently of the Voiceover volume. This is a much more enhanced program than Music Dock since it is recently updated and carries most--if not all--of the online only Sirius XM content including the Folk Village, Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, Tom Petty, Red White and Booze, and many more; as well as all the sports channels. Enjoy. Steve Lansing, MI - Original Message - From: Donald L. Please would someone either point me to some instructions for using the Radium player or, in lieu of a podcast or something, please provide a few pointers as to the use of this app. Also, I used to use Music Dock, so I would appreciate comments from persons familiar with both apps. If I remember correctly, there were two apps with the name radium, and I got the one called radium perfect. Thanks in advance for any info.
