iTunes Authorisation
I have just restored (with Super Duper) to a new machine and am encountering problems in iTunes authorisation. Many of my playlists will function normally but for all iTunes purchased music I get the message This computer is not authorised to play. (title of tune). To play this song you must authorise this computer to play songs using the account [EMAIL PROTECTED]. This is not my account name. When I correct it to my actual account ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) I get the message that the machine is already authorised and upon attempting to play the tune I once more get the initial message asking me to authorise in the name of an account that does not exist. And so on... I know this sound a bit confusing but nowhere near as confused as I am becoming. Any suggestions? Re: iTunes Authorisation
Michael, I know this won't help, but I have this exact same problem with four iTunes songs, it goes round in circles asking for reauthorisation etc etc. All other iTunes songs play with no problems, it is just with these four. A friend of mine had a similar problem a couple of years ago and he contacted Apple and they were able to resolve the issue for him. I am planning on doing that soon. Re: iTunes Authorisation
Hello Wendy Michael, Have you tried fully de-authorising the iTunes application and then reauthorising it, so the program goes through a full cycle of changing the authorisation settings. Then Quit iTunes and restart iTunes. If you've hit the five-authorisation limit so that when you try to get iTunes authorised you get the message that you've hit that limit, log into your iTunes Store account. You should see a button that will allow you to clear all your authorisations. You can then reauthorise those systems you are currently using. Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The de-authorise All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorised computers, or if you have used this option within the last 12 months. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact the iTunes Store support via email. Re: iTunes Authorisation
Hi Michael, I imagine that you did not de-authorise your old Mac that iTunes was authorised on before bringing everything onto your new Mac. You have to de-authorise the old machine before you can authorise the new machine. If your work around is working ok ... that's good. Ronni, my old Mac was dead. Only the cloned drive survived (thank goodness). There was no question therefore of de-authorising the old machine. Myob again
Hi and thanks to everyone who answered my questions regarding Myob.I have been thinking about the various scenarios and came up with following idea. As I'm using the workshop mac solely for timebilling. and the officemac for everything else(including timebilling)...is it possible to only export the timebilling from the workshop and import it to the office mac.,,Then use these data for billing and so on and keep backups only from the officemac? On top of it -but not necessary is it possible to keep these updates on the workshop mac under a different user?=workshopmac to run in administrator for backups and limited user for timebilling. good idea or nonsense have a nice sunday everyone Martin -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml Guidelines - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml Unsubscribe - mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi Rod, I would have to highly recommend Digital Design Photoshop by Natcoll Publishing for $34.95 This is not a book but a fantastic DVD that you learn by following the presenter. It takes you through the very basics through to medium level skills. I use it with great success in my yr 9 10 classes. Even though I'm an experienced photoshop user I actually learnt some nifty tricks from it. Re: Recover photos from iPod touch
Hello Jane Tom, Tom, I 'think' iPod Extractor will only copy songs not photos. Do you know if it copies Photos as well? Jane, When iTunes prepares photos for iPod storage, it stashes them in a format that isn't readable by imaging programs, such as iPhoto or Photoshop. Be aware that as part of the transfer to the iPod Touch, the photos were optimised to a uniform resolution. For most digital images, that means a reduction in image quality compared to the original image. Certainly, a reduced quality image I guess is better than nothing. They could use Ecamm Network's iPhoneDrive (now named PhoneView, works with iPhone iPod Touch). http://www.macworld.com/article/59084/2007/07/iphonedrive.html http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/ Need OSX 10.4.11 or later iTunes v7.3 or later PhoneView will allow you to download a demo copy to your Mac in Demo mode. It will expire after 7 days. Also in Demo mode it will only provide access to the first 20 of your synced photos, you have to purchase PhoneView for full synced access. OR TouchCopy http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/ Need OSX 10.4 (Tiger) or OSX 10.5 (Leopard) TouchCopy in the Demo Mode will show you what is on your iPod Touch but won't allow you to copy to your Mac without purchasing TouchCopy first. iPodRip is Not supported for iPhone or iPod Touch YET!
