Yep.

Click on the Apple Logo in top left of screen.
Then "About This Mac”
Then “System Report”
Then under “Software" click on “Applications”
Select each Application and look for “Kind”

A bit time consuming to check every one.
But I don’t know of a quicker way.

Thanks Stephen for this and the other email on the Office link. I
presume there is a way to screen all applications installed to confirm
the 32bit/64bit compatibility as a predecessor before deciding to
launch into Catalina update.

It is possible that Office 2011 may have because Microsoft stopped supporting 
it about 18 months ago.
But I spent quite a bit of time (well before Catalina release) identifying all 
my 32 bit software on my iMac.
Then set about either updating them or replacing them.

My wife and I have both been on Catalina since about 2 weeks after release.
I find it very stable and have no issues at all.

But I made sure for some time prior that I gradually upgraded any 32 bit Apps 
to 64 bit.
Or I replaced them with something else.
So when we moved to Catalina it went quite smoothly.

PS: I downloaded a genuine MS Office 2016 (with license) foe $110.00.
But I tend to do a lot of research before diving into anything.

Hi Guy’s
Just a question, I have an iPhone 6S , recently I have “No Service” showing on 
my phone, I can send e-mails and certain messages, see FB, but I can neither 
receive phone calls nor make them.
I have shutdown the phone and restarted, I have also removed the SIM card and 
replaced it all to no avail.
My Wife also has the iPone 6S without any problems.
Any suggestions please.

Hi Bill, thanks for that response. It triggered me into looking at the
availability of MS Office for a once off purchase. I see Office 2019
is also available for once off purchase. I don't want to go down the
Office 365 route. All I could see was the single user licence. Do MS
still do the 5 user licence for MS Office once off purchase? I thought
that Office 2011 would be incompatible with Catalina (being the 64 bit
requirement). 
Does anyone have any guidance for a Once off purchased MS Office
(Multi licence) that is Catalina compatible?

Hi Pat

Some suggestions:

1.  Ensure you have the latest Catalina version (macOS 10.15.4) installed.   
What was your previous OS?  Did it update from Mojave or Sierra or ---?

2.  Are you using USB or Bluetooth for the Wacom tablet?  There may be a common 
USB issue if tablet and external drives are all affected.  Can you access data 
on both external drives?  

3.  Check external disks visibility is turned “on” in Finder > Preferences > 
General to show items on desktop.

4.  Check external disks visible in Finder Sidebar via Finder > Preferences > 
Sidebar.

5.  Use Disk Utility with “View - show all devices”.  This should show all 
mountable drives and their status.

6.  Have you tried SMC and NVRAM resets?  And the good old computer Restart has 
fixed many odd problems.

From a Finder window, have you checked Finder > Preferences > General? Not 
having Catalina yet either I’m not 100% sure of my ground here, but I’m 
assuming things haven’t changed THAT much, but there should be a checkbox 
allowing you to show a number of items on the desktop. You’ll see Hard disks at 
the top of the list.

Things have been extremely quiet on the Catalina from ever since it was 
released. I don’t know whether this is because nobody is downloading it or 
everyone who has is happy with it. I do know that Adam Engst from Tidbits was 
forced to move to Catalina after a recent SSD failure. Like the rest of us he 
was waiting for the “right” time, but since upgrading he seems to have no 
complaints.

Still thinking about it, but my Mojave frying pan is working so well I don’t 
want to go jumping into any fires...

Re: Horrible Catalina

Peter I was initially nervous about ditching Word and Excel; and certainly was 
never going to pay for them. I have found Pages and Numbers to be perfectly 
suitable for the rare occasions I need to open a word or excel file.

I’ve found alternatives to the other 32 bit software that I really needed, and 
realised I never used most of them anyway when they died with Catalina. 

I know I’m an early adopter and enthusiastically embrace the next big new 
thing. Then troubleshoot my way around whatever that rash decision has 
presented. 

I know that’s not for everyone

Horrible Catalina

Hello, WAMUGgers, I  moved over to Brisbane,4 months ago. My computer 
didn’t catch up with me for several of those months.  When I finally cranked it 
up and pushed the Start button, there was Catalina. Well, I thought, I hope it 
is as good as its predecessor. But, I was in for shock after shock. To  put it  
in straight words: I Hate Catalina.  There are so many horrible changes; what 
has Apple been thinking? I read about the Mac virus problem, but that doesn’t 
warrant the  infliction of Catalina on unsuspecting computers.

Anyway, does anyone know if Catallina will be superceded?  Soon?  And does 
anyone know if there is anything like WAMUG in Brisbane? 

I wish good health for all of you in these treacherous times.
