Hello,
I picked this record up this afternoon, and I quite like it. It is a
nice 12 of lo-fi bedroom electronics. Definitely not a dance cut, but
it is a nice piece of subtle ambience. How long has this been out for,
and any comments?
Take care,

center, the grooves are actually compressed. that just seems strange. as i

Mike,
This record has been out for about three weeks in the U.S. and Canada. I
love Stewart's stuff lately, but have as of yet been able to snag a copy
of Granular Synthesis. What I've heard from it sounds exactly as you
said. Can't wait to grab it.
I hear Mille Plateaux has a U.S office now.

I agree with Josh. I don't think the future of Detroit Techno, much less
anything for that matter, rests in the hands of one person. Rich is not a

my thing with the ghetto is its involvement in the creation of the music.
detroit techno is a movement, and the economical social climate of detroit
is one huge influence. when i'm hearing detroit techno, it sounds like it
does because of its environment. its reflecting the city, not the suburbs.

Rich apparently had a run-in with some problems in the UK and stopped playing
after an hour. What with all the Hawtin talk I hope it hasn't been discussed
yet--I haven't read everything. He has a story on m-nus about what happened
and an interesting perspective on the current state of club
I dont really want to get too far into this. I'll just say one thing
regarding ghetto vs. suburbs - it seems like people like to view kids from
the suburbs as somehow less real, as if it is undesireable to grow up in the
suburbs and ghetto kids are somehow better people, keeping it real and
donĀ“t forget the ghetto is an unescapable reality in some cases, and some have
to fight just a lil bit harder. maybe this makes em focused, angry or just
dependent on something which for others is a mere choice or hobby. not saying
one is better than the other maybe its good to keep this in mind
It seems that a discussion about innovation of techno and the future of
techno is turning into a discussion about suburbs vc. gheto. Getting back to
the orriginal subject: Trying to be an innovator can not work, forcing
innovation is stupid. Just make nice and beautifull music, the innovation
point taken. but watch out for boredom dont sleep and eat healthy
