yeah, as has been said
A traveling exhibit would be good, but they need a lot more input and
sponsorship. I don't know who they solicited goods from, but I would think
that perhaps opening it to more of the techno community could produce more
materials. Or it could pose more problems I suppose.

4th graders are smarter than that. I understand to simplify, but if a 12yr
old can be a DMC champion then I'm sure they'd get what was going on. Or do
what a lot of exhibits do, have a youth explanation in addition to a more
mature explanation.

its also on a compilation called Innovators Future Techno on Breakdown
Records (http://www.discogs.com/release/31649) from a few years back. not sure
if this may be easier to pick up?

Hello
I wonder if anyone knows who handles Kenny Dixon jr and Theo Parrish
bookings these days. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there,
really glad you like the stuff- copies should be filtering their way
into shops about now in the Uk and mainland Europe- try
www.rubadub-records.com or www.courthouse.nl. Anyone else having problems
should drop me a line and I'll see if there's anything I can do

Odd to think that an old English granny can be termed an unsung pioneer
of techno - but when you look at the life of the person who proposed
the creation of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, and who did so much to
popularise electronic music since the 1960s (she wrote the theme song

It was actually another old English granny who wrote Dr Who - Delia

I can't quite imagine these old ladies sitting around in tweed, twinsets and

Perhaps Ksomic Messenger sounds a lot better on vynil.
I never cared much for the Shamen either.
Like all that bad early 90's UK dance/ rave msuic made for the UK Top 40
charts.

Bizarre Inc are not Altern8.
Nexus 21 are Altern8's alter ego - they had some great Detroit -influenced
trax on Network
Bizarre Inc were from Essex and Altern9 were from Stafford.
Bizarre Inc are still producing as Chicken Lips methinks.

There will definitely be some 313 peeps down on both nights.

One of them (I can't remember which) did that hiphouse imitation Slo
Moshun's Bell Of New York (if I remember correctly - it was distributed in
the UK shrinkwrapped and complete with import stickers, along with a
misleading press release to hoodwink the UK press into thinking it was from
NJ), but
Are you sure that Slo Moshun record wasn't by Ashley Beedle? (I'm trying
to regain the trainspotter-points I lost to you over Dr Who :)
It's an odd coincidence - I was browsing a US record shop's catalogue
today, and they had that record listed as a US release. The scam has yet
to wear off,
Just had a quick look on the Net via Google and it was Mark Archer and Danny
Taurus - maybe Beedle remixed it?
Altern8 were also involved with CM Connection on Network (what a label,
eh?):

Funnily enough I actually saw them playing 'live' (standing behind big
cardboard 8's with a few dancers on stage) last summer in my home town of
Chorley (back of beyond Lancashire Market town). Chorley never has any sort

It wasn't at Brian Potter's Phoenix club was it? ;-)

Nah 'Strings Of Life' had a comeback of sorts 1992 with the ravers, I would
think this is the reason why they sampled it.
