My favourite of his on Eevo Lute is probably "Mono Bass" - but I would
recommend getting everything you can. It's all very pure and very
accomplished techno, early 1990s lowlands style. More emphasis on
melodies than on sound design, nice intricate but not too fussy drum
programming, good crisp 909

That was 'Angora' wasn't it?
In any case, the 'Angola' being remixed by Carl Craig and Pepe Bradock is a
track by (world music star) Cesaria Evora...

So this isn't the same Angola that did 'Enlightenment' on Prescription way
back?? That was Peven Everett and Roy Davis Jr. - although I heard that it
was just Peven, with Roy on the beats. That is one beautiful record.
Probably not, I know

Arrgh, I'm at work and I can't remember the guys name. It's a 10" on a
french label, and the guy was a famous soundtrack composer - and it's gone
out of my head completely. I'll post it tomorrow if no one else can do the

Picked it up at the weekend - Carl's mix is superb mid-tempo wigged-out
techno with dope percussion galore. Haven't really been playing Pepe's mixes
much yet but they're a bit more abstract and 'out there' -
nothing of note.

Not to kick off another off-topic thread, but there is a whole world of
difference between dull, Beyer-style loop techno and the music produced by
Surgeon, Regis, etc. Its pretty insulting to lump them together...

A little shameless self promotion here, but I recently put a new mix online.
It's got 31 or 32 tracks, mostly old classics, with a few fresh new tracks
mixed in, primarily acid house, detroit techno, and detroit electro. The
levels bounce around a bit on it, I accidentally compressed the mix to al
