if this is true (may not paying barnett),
it doesn't shock me to hear that may didn't pay barnett.

fact that represses (of things he had collaborators help

co-produced by Carl Craig...a lot of the rythim is rythim stuff was
derrick and someone else...like nude photo with thomas barnett and
r-theme with

when someone posted to this list that one nite when derrick may was
spinning at temple someone (i can't remember the name) came up and spit on
may's record and (i think) removed the tone arm from the record. i

Thomas Barnette was the aleged culprit. I don't know if this was ever
confirmed. I like Tom but I don't like what he spins.

I don't think that the Innovator comp. is a patch on the Red Planet album.
Sure it has good tracks but some of it sounds very dodgy now (that's as
diplomatic as I can be).
Any thoughts??

I think they're both very different albums reflecting
the diversity of the detroit sound. They both share
similarities between them but the definition of
detroit electronic music is kinda loose. I know what

I couldn't put early Red Planet stuff and D.May's

Did anyone catch him in Brisbane or Cairns? I heard Brisbane was cool.
yeah he rocked in brisbane, shame the sound system was so poor...only heard
the bass and hihats, all the midrange was muddy and subsequently it almost
ruined the set..however the highlight was derrick dropping UR Amazon and

gone quite right for me. Which is really frustrating because I love the

I don't think Derrick gets the right crowd in Sydney, personally. The city

Just got home (early Monday morning) from seeing Derrick spin at Seven (a

Derrick played great on NYE, everyone there was familiar with who he is and
