The thing about an arts or music festival is this: a festival has sponsors,
organisations big and small. Some sponsor the festival because they want
their brand associated with a cultural event, some just want to support it
for what it is. Festival programs are chosen by festival director/s, not
To state the obvious: why source these guys when you have Alan Oldham - in
town? An originator of this sound and from Detroit?
The Last DJ On Earth *still rocks* my stereo.
Just to throw this out there, did anyone else know that for no more than the
price of air fare the DEMF was offered Joel
I am sure he would be familar to a point, but I can't imagine that he has
everything Marco ever did. Think about it: those guys are cool, and I
support them, but do they fit into the tradition that the DEMF is supposed
to represent? I would so much prefer to see the original guys from Detroit
who

What is your problem?
I would like to know?

Can I ask why you are singling me out for a fairly innocuous statement and
humiliating me publicly?
is it really that humiliating to be flamed on an internet mailing
list? It's happened to me hundreds of times in the short while that i've
been active on this list!
It's the norm, really. Just

I sure hope not, NYC people just don't know how to party so it would be a
wash.(and i'm talking born here NY'ers) Nobody knows having a good time

Actually I have heard a lot of talk about Chicago, although on a smaller

Some of you fellers make me laugh.
No kidding. People get ulcers about music discussion. It happens
everywhere and I don't really understand it. Talking about T1000 is
boring, and trying to figure out people's rationale is boring too. What
I'd like to see is perhaps people reviewing some of these things on their
top ten lists.
On my part I apologise for not thinking out my post or expressing myself
clearly on that occasion. I was trying to put another point of view - or put
something in another context. I personally enjoy the other viewpoints on the
list, even when and if I don't agree with them, it helps me get a sense

That info is actually true. It seems they were willing to let the person in
question sponsor a stage, but would not let him have control over who would
be appearing on the stage. Circles within circles.

Am I the only one who was extremely happy when he read this?
No compromise.

'Although I'm wondering, given the way it's being billed this year,
whether they're gonna drop the D after next year's edition and then hold it
