Folks,
After donning my asbestos suit, let me propose this alternative. Other
people have hinted at this and perhaps even said it outright; however,
this might be a concise restatement of the point and possible solution.

For what it's worth, abcm2ps 2.10.9 (February 10, 2002) didn't have any
problem with it apart from the global accidentals, which it gave one
warning about ("Unknown token in k

They are absolute. Thus, no matter what key you are in, "_e" means E flat.

Have you looked at Denemo (http://denemo.sourceforge.net)? The Web page
hasn't been updated in a while but the development is very active, and
there's ABC export (not import) in 0.5.6. It is not a text editor; rather,
it is a graphical editor that can import/export multiple formats, rather

Buddha,
I can't remember your original message, I'm afraid, but abcm2ps will merge
lots of voices (up to three, at least) onto a single staff, and it does so
quite nicely. New releases are made quite frequently, too, which is great.
I use it on Linux all the time. In order to have five voices,
ut rest assured that the new release is
indeed available from the download link.

abcm2ps and abc2midi) are also thus exposed, with "Mysterious Is the

looks like an asterisk) in the standard? If not, perhaps they should be
added.
Also, I noticed that all the dynamics except for !mp! were in the
standard -- probably just an oversight, but it ought to be corrected
before the standard becomes official.

H
