business - not his or IBM's. I responded back that both the library and the
cartridges are from IBM! - no good :-(.

Yes, even though the tapes are supposed to be pre-labled TSM will put
a ADSM header on the tape. We always checkin new tapes using the Label
Libvol command with the checkin=yes parameter. Hope this helps.

and imported to a Solaris server, and the other way around - but it's always
been to very close version/fix numbers on the servers. Get too far apart,
(going backwards at least) and the import complains about downlevel

another implementation on the same computer (possibly with much smaller disk
needs), restore using the new server name (server2?), kind of like doing a
disaster recovery restore but onto the same machine.
