I've successfully installed the CVS version of ALSA for an ALS4000 chipset based card. I used alsamixer to max the volume (why does ALSA default to mute?). The sound is not very loud even with the volume maxed, any ideas? From Mozilla and GNU/Linux

The latest CVS version of ALSA worked for me. I have now a functional sound, but, sadly, with very volume, even with mixers at maximum. Please tell me if you discover the cause. I posted a question to this list about low volume so it sounds like it is more than the als4000 driver.
