The vu-meters have slider controls and mute buttons and L/R gang. These
affect only the digital mixer, so unmuting and setting the sliders up will
result vu-movement

I have an MAudio Deltio DiO 2496 sound card that I'm trying to use for simple
playback and I can't seem to get to the end of my problems. OSS emulation
playback has pops / clicks. And I'm unable to get native ALSA to work in some
programs.
Is there any way to turn debugging on in the drivers?

I also have a ice1712/envy24-based card, and had a similar problem using
dmix with mplayer, and probably still have, I did not check for a while
though. Everything works fine using a sample r

All,
I've been having problems with this card in a certain application for over a
week and a half. And I have to say that it's not in any part due to laziness on
my part. Perhaps this will help some of the list members diagnose my problem.

both of the "H/W Out" channels to either "PCM Out" or "H/W In". switching
between these settings, and the associated asoundrcs, is the on

Help ice1712/envy24 experts!
Below is my current asound.conf file (thanks to Steve
Mercier). It defines 4 different stereo input
channels for A/D recording. I noticed that if I
attempt to record on 4 channels simultaneously (4
different threads of course) only 1 channel will
record, the other 3

Hi,
I just bought an audiophile 2496 card to replace my
ensoniq 1371 card.
I loaded the alsa 0.9beta12 drivers succesfully, but
when I play some audio I get drop-outs every 30 seconds
or so, the audio seems to quickly fade-out/fade-in.
I think it becomes worse if the harddisk or CPU is busy
