Hello all,
Can anybody throw some light into AAR's music that had flavours from different
regions of india? For example, any song that had marathi flavour, gujarathi,
rajasthani etc.
Thanks!
Harsha
Hi guys,
Though it may be too early to suggest, since ARR is and will remain
young enuf for all of us, are there any biographers here??
If not now, maybe 10 years from now there would be a book on ARR and
dedicated to his music. We can have one whole book on his music and
another book on him
ARR might not have actually composed music for this. But the director
might have probably used ARR's bgms.Just like Deepa did it in Fire

Hey guys,
I've followed previous posts and about the mention of loops and

I know I can get them by mere searching on net. But something that is
of reasonable price and is worth it is what I'm looking for. I may use

The question is not whether ARR killing the tamil or any language. ARR
can kill the music, not the lyrics.btw, he's not a lyricist.
Songs from earlier movies until Kadhalan were good. Unni krishnan got
national award for Ennavale. At that time, lyrics were written by
lyricist. Now A.M. Ratnam
OK,
The initial 20 sec. sounds similar. I would just wait for the film and
soundtrack released before I comment. Who knows.ARR must've

The thing is, Provoked is not a masala bollywood film. So ARR sure
does know about the music, when he's
I wouldn't use the word 'copied', but may be used for the song. Its a
very short loop I guess and I heard it only as a trailor to that
program which is aired in tbs channel in US.And this particular
trailor with this music doesn't come very often, but I'm pretty sure

Dear all,
I know Illayaraja gave music for many movies in telugu. I read in a
local newspaper long time back that he disliked few telugu directors
for not having music sense and stopped working.but having said
that he came up with superb melodious numbers.

Talking of Telephone dhun, the starting beats are similar to the song,
All that she wants, from the album Ace of base. The same beats come
in the middle of this song. Its a very famous album.
You can easily make out the similarity in beats, ofcourse the tune is
original. Let me know what u
You may want to include Garden Vareli sarees.the begining tune is
used in Roja (Roja jaaneman.)
Also I think Tantex is also another jingle where the beats are similar

on prashanth and heera.

Hello all,
Guys if u r listening to recent BGMs you may want to observe this. The
BGMs which are more melodious always has birds chirping in the
background (padayappa, jeans, indian, boys).
I remember when I and my friends were preparing for IIT exam, there
was some craze about the Mind Power
I was listening to voiceless BGM's of Indian that Wasim posted. All of
them are soothing to hear. My fav. is Ash's intro.
Now the funny part. For the BGM numbered 17, the file is labeled as

Harris worked with Rahman for 4-5 films and then he parted with him to
compose music on his own. Hence in the begining, it sounded more of
rahman's tunes and beats. I think both are similar in approach of
sounds but Harris music is a little loud than Rahman's.
But all in all, they both share
Yea, well said.
If the film has old aged characters, then all the senior singers come
into place. Imagine a song sequene where a young couple will b dancing
to the heavy sounded voices of SPB, janaki etc. Definitely ARR won't b

Ok, Rising music is not titillating for many I guess. Fine, but what
is that u guys were expecting? A fast tappy number?? a duet song?? use
of modern instruments?
If u were expecting all the above, the film wud be a comedy. As said
its a period film with differnt story (its not Lagaan again).
Simply put..ARR did 'use' the beats and samples...now no
cribbing about it. But he never lifted the tunes from the original.
Remember tune is the backbone of any song, not just the beats alone.
Also, it depends on the director's demands. If the director wants to
use somebody else's
Lets just say Kamal is more influenced with illayaraja's music than
arr. That is understandable as kamal has done 100s of movies with illaya.
Illayaraja is also a great MD in his times. I have as much regard to

I don't think there is any rift b/w arr and sanu, but there is
definitely a rift b/w sanu and udit narayan.
That was long time back. ARR likes udit's voice more than sanu's. The
thing is that the singer shud be content and be comfortable with the
MD he's working for. Udit, SPB, Shankar, hariharan

Hey,
I completely agree with you. I thought of the same thing the very

not the whole tune etc. that is similar. I'm not sure it would be
Rahman's as we would have been known by now as we know about Spirit of
