I would assume that changing Alias values on drop list fields will not impact
workflow as workflow is against the database value of these fields (0,1.. etc
assuming these values are all linear).
HOWEVER, it may impact your reports against these fields if alias values are
used on reports..

create view unique_names as select name from form_containing_names_data where
whatever your where clause ought to be...
Then create a Remedy View form of the view unique_names and create a web
