In regards to ITSM, what is the difference between a version change, a release

Assuming that a version change is a major change to the application... but what
does it entail? What is considered a release change (i.e. going from 7.5.03 to

Watch the filter log closely - updates to that HPD form result in updates to
several other forms, especially if you have integrated products like SLM

Could you imagine being a Remedy internal code developer calling functions to
write into a flat-file vs calling an open-source library to write to an
open-source database?
It had to be significant pain to come up with the flat-file strategy.

That is what I am remembering too. Can you imaginge installing today's ITSM
against a flat file? :)

Are there any known issues with using Matching Qualifications in a DSO

Hi,
Anyone managed to successfully install atriumsso? I've tried it several
times and it always fails with no errors or warnings in the install log.
After the install, I'm able to get to the config page with no apparent
issues.
Hi,
I think it was when the Join-forms was introduced, that
flat-file-functionality became complicated to maintain...
I for one missed it at that time. Why not add support for SQLite and
reintroduce the error messages. A simple find/replace from flat-file to
SQLite should do it ;-)

Hi,
I actually do not know exactly.
BMC has been enhancing performance with each version.
Someone with more knowledge about MidTier and versions should be able give
us a more detailed answer.
The best way to figure this out, as always (almost), is to turn on your
various log files :-)
Have you attempted to use the new tool against environments other than your
test environment yet?

Misi,
Question regarding #1 below. For setups such as myself where all users utilize
Mid Tier, what would the impact of updating the user record for that user?

You got a ticket resolved with BMC Support? I am impressed! Of course, you

LJ,
I just worked a ticket w/ BMC on this to be sure. Server-side dataimporttool
won't work for non-administrator userids if already logged-in to Remedy, which
is the case if you trigger the import via workflow. (Posting to clarify for

Does this mean that there is no more support for flat file database? :-)

There is a known issue with a running server, where the AR System service

Oracle 11g 64bit
Lots of memory and CPU.
Once ITSM 7.6.3 was installed it would take upwards of 6 minutes to start

This has been a problem with the installers for quite some time. I will let
Engineering and QA decide where the problem is, but it is very probably NOT
a problem with you or your installation. We have seen it multiple times on
multiple platforms. It's like it is supposed to check to see if the s
