Just want to send a heads up to those that might not have seen the
announcement on the BMC Communities. BMC is about to adopt an official,
consistent Idea review process on the Communities.
Ideation Process Improvements - Targeted for late June 2015
This should address the complaint many of us
I agree! I don't think BPCU is worth the trouble for an ITSM system
(assuming large amounts of non-modified objects are still reported as
needing an overlay) let alone a custom system. Personally I would skip the
whole BPCU part and manually re-customize the core forms by hand (using

So with my last email a few minutes ago about the Ideas process updates and
renewed hope we'll see some movement around submitted Ideas, I posted Smart
Reporting for non-ITSM https://communities.bmc.com/ideas/10527.
Smart Reporting addresses what many of us have felt is a deficiency in

It is a two step procedure that you should be able to do with AI. First create
the Change then have the AI process query the file with the list of CIs to
create the Change association records by validating the CI exist in the CMDB
and pulling the field value, I think it is the recon ID to
Hello Team,
If I search the CI's using advanced search I can able to view those CI's
under the search table. But If I try to view those CI's, system says No

But I can see those CI's in the core Base Element Class.
Can anybody suggest how might be the root cause?
Hi Babajan,
I faced the similar kind of issue year back. The issue was the class id of
these CI's were coming as blank.
After fixing the same we were able to search the CI at our end.
Could you please check the same for your CI's.

The only thing off the top of my head would be that you'd have to get back the
change record and then push records to the appropriate Association forms in
ITSM such as CHG:Association. You'll prob need The recon ID of the CI's too. If
not, you'll need to build some workflow to look it up if all
Hi Misi,
Thanks a lot for explaining this , Now I got it.
Also I just need to understand one more point :
Can we use RRR|Chive tool to migrate remedy def files also or it's only to
migrate the data.
If not then we need to use BCPU utility to convert OOB objects to overlays
first and then migrate
Hi,
I presume that you do not have a lot of changes in User/Group. Maybe the
simples way is to add the changes manually after installation.
I have a utility called RRR|DefFieldDiff that is designed to find Data
differences between forms. These differences are what you really need to add
again.
