You can write an activex control to do it, but it will only work on ie. Just think how infected with viruses your pc would be if remote websites could run processes on your local pc; it's not allowed for a reason. You could write a java applet to do it, but you would have jvm issues on the client

Hi Julio, The short answer is that you can only trigger filters by submitting or modifying data. Escalations are timed filters which you basically cannot force to trigger. Active links are client side workflow objects and cannot be "triggered" on the server. But I would recommend you to look at
