Not in the US they can't... unless you can prove actual
wrongdoing (i.e. they faked/counterfeit bank guarantees or
other such measures to get you

Advice: 1. Ask for Bank Guarantee for substantial amount 2. See if they
can offer terms to you , if not then be guided by that old adage - "You
see yourself in shaving mirror".
