You need to be able to record at 44.1kHz (same as CD). The sweeps are 44.1kHz FLAC. Be sure to measure with equipment which really does record at 44.1. Some of the cheap equipment will only record at 48kHz, and you won't get a good measurement that way. (For now, 44.1 is the only sample-rate

I ripped all my CD's (and all my wife's) to FLAC. Primarily to have a backup so that regardless of what the next format that comes along is, I can just convert from the CD-equivalent FLAC's. I also converted everything to MP3's, moving the FLAC's to offline storage and using the MP3's for

Well if it's lossless, by definition the end resulting bitrate won't matter. You can see it vary, depending on the track, anywhere from 500kbps to 1440kbps, but that all depends on how compressible the audio is. (Just like if you use zip to compress a text document or something -really-
