The effects are quite audible.
I like what I hear, so in my subjective opinion it's an improvement.
I might at some point pop round to a friend's place and have him put it
on the 'scope. Be interesting to see what's being removed, noise wise,

It was not a personal attack, so I'll give your instruction a miss,
thank you.
But, how can a sound be transparent?
just had a rather long look at this thread. very interesting. I have
used Klaus' mods in the past, but due to changing residence didn't get
back to using it. At that time it made a difference, though not huge.
Still, a difference (for the better) only with SW is a HUGE thing in an

A DAC would not hurt, although I would probably look to upgrading the
speakers or amp before the source in your place - although it might
take more than £200 to make a real jump up in quality.
If you do want to buy a DAC, the CA is a good choice. The Arcam rDAC

However seem to notice mixed reviews on DACS, I was thinking of the
cambridge and also the Beresford Caiman DAC, some people say they add a
lot and others say there is no real benefit.
Would be interested to hear users on here's experience

Hi folks.
FYI.
I'll release TT3.0 next week on the 22nd. On the 20th I'll release a
Beta,
just to get some feedback from the early adopters .
Sorry for the delay.
You can expect lots of changes an improvements.
I guess many of you will like it. ;)

My personal advice is that it is all too easy to think that a change of
DAC will make a difference and as a result you actually do hear a
difference where none actually exists. (Expectation tends to be
self-fulfilling). Pretty much all competent DACs sound very similar.

The xlinx reset did not work. In fact both channels have the same

Thanks for the responses (well, the more constructive ones :-) ).
I think I'd have to rule out something like the Krell though as we'll
need lots of inputs. (Well, need is a strong word; but even though I
suspect I haven't used it in years, I'd still like the option of an
input for my Rega 2.

Well the PVR,Blu-Ray and TV should really be on a home theater receiver
that sends it fronts line out to the Krell in home theater bypass mode.
That would leave you 2 sets of RCA in for the Rega 2 and CD Player and
the balanced ins for the Transporter.

I am running Lion on an iMac and am using SBS7.7 I keep my FLAC music in
a separate folder on the Mac. I show it under media folders on the SBS
library page and leave a checkmark beside iTunes as well. SBS scans
both and Touch shows the FLACs in a separate folder under My Music.
