This thread had me experimenting again.
It still baffles me that the audible differences between digital cables
can be so large; between my Touch and Rega DAC I used to use an Oyaide
510. Beautiful well made cable, pure silver, multiple shields, and it
sounded great with former dacs. However,
Toslink's presentation is just very (for lack of a better word) -clean-.
IMO it's the lack of an electronic connection, that makes for the
blacker background, smoother treble, more solidified bass.

air. irq45, 42, 17, 123 and 102 set to priority 41. impression is less
dark than sbt base, but pretty much same bass, exquisite mid and no

I have been following this thread since the beginning but have never
been able to try any of the mods as the screen on my Bolder modded
Touch was disabled (permanently!) when I snapped the flat cable
connector. Anyhow I finally got around to buying another Touch and
updated p83 post 827 mods as irq42 set to 41 was taking some of the top
end away, so will now default to 40.

The sbgk from p62 have been there a few days. They are the ones I have
been using since then and I'm quite satisfied with them.
However, I agree with the recent comments about the unnecessary
confusion.
The changes have been fast and furious. It would really help to know
what these adjustments
I tried a Blue Jeans 3 foot plastic optical cable and came up thoroughly
unimpressed. Both connectors were sloppy fitting.
Then I tried one of those Amazon Cables to Go 3ft glass cable. Great
snug fitting connectors and the sound was a big improvement over the BJ
cable.
