I kind of figured that would be the answer - I'll just have to have a
listen and figure out which I like. Hopefully the digital output from
the SB3, since it's just one cable to wrestle into my nightmare of a
cabinet.

had a little more omph behind it, even at the same power rating as the
Marantz. I guess maybe a little fuller sound? I don't know if I can
really tell - the RKB-2100 was more than half off. So even not
intending to buy the amp that day, I bit.

knob I can find to 11, and that should keep things even. ;-)

Well, I understand that nothing matters aside from my ears. But if you
had to compare items on paper, I guess I'm just looking to know if one
has better technical capabilities than the other.

editing of .inf files, and it gives me FLAC for the home and
192kbps MP3 for the road simultaneously. Much better, I think. But they
both get the job done.

need to have the FLAC codec
installed and configured as the encoder - it's a little more finicky to
set up. I think dBPowerAmp does the FLAC install for you, whereas EAC
doesn't.

ability to rip to two sources simultaneously, which I lost when I went
from XP x86 to Vista x64. Before I did that (one of the dumber things
I've ever done) EAC worked like a champ.

I guess - I don't feel like I'm missing anything by using an SB3
without the fancy controller. But if you've already got one, and you
don't mind moving it from room to room to control the devices, another
SBR makes sense.

would rule that out as something to worry about when
optimizing signal. If you can, then do what you gotta do. At the very
least it's kind of a fun project.

playing the song at a faster rate than you're sending it, and your
player would have to pause in order to let the transfer catch up.
Am I misunderstanding you?
