Haven't tried one of these myself, but I would be willing to bet that
it's absolutely top notch quality.

Will likely get an ifi power supply from reading this thread.

I try out a SoTM SMS-200 streamer right now into a Quad USB DAC (450
euro when new). I compare it to my SBT with linear PSU and its analogue
outputs. I hear no difference. Maybe others do, but I don't.

Oh yes, some make it vodoo! We have occasional earthquakes and tremors
around here and I've not heard any vibration when these occur, at least
when my power stays on. I would think that some cables made of
unobtanium would correct all the problems.

What I have learned in my journey from analoge sources (LPs) to digital
music sources is that much more problems needs to resolved when you
choose the digital path.
Beside all discussion of technical components there are two main
concerns: vibration and power.
1) *Vibration:* the complete chain -
Ive opted for a Pi4 in a Lincoln Binns case coupled with a Khadas tone

They are a great match visually and sonically.

I agree. Not messing wit
If you use a Pi 3B or Pi 4. Then any audibly transparent USB DAC will do
the job.
Pay more for features or a nice case. I have found the measurements at
www.Audiosciencereview.com (ASR) to be very useful and they have
measured a ton of DACs.

Consider the original Digione Player (not Signature). $270 US at Allo

other sellers have it available to consider due to shipping distance

PS, I control my LMS with either my Android phone or from the web

If you are looking for an always-on visual interface, Audiophonics in
France have a number of options; I've seen that case elsewhere too.

Hi Dan,
My needs are more modest than yours I'm sure; I'm a "good sound at a not
painful price" sort.
That said you might want to experiment a bit more (as you have been)
before committing which is why I threw o

I did exactly this using piCorePlayer, although I had a now older Schiit

Maybe you should take a look at the "Digione Signature" HAT for your
RPi4B.
The SPDIF output is isolated from the RPi4B side.

Hi,
sorry, the Transporter is not longer available, its making another user
happy already :-). but the Touch and the Classic are still there...
@Dan: I've not read the whole thread, but if you have an external DAC
maybe a good alternative to the transporter is a SMS 200 streamer from
SOTM. t
Hi Dan,
here sells someone in Germany a Transporter:

But I don't know whether it is still valid.

Very interesting, this could really be my solution.
But there is not many DAC`s with AES on market (mainly DAC`s for the pro

"New Old Stock" knob-less Transporters are going for $500 on eBay with
shipping. So long as your files top out at 24/96, it's as good as it

Hello
I have been a "hifi nerd" for about 30 years, newer had the completely
expensive setups, but always had fun in putting something good together
for the money I could/can spend on the hobby.
Today there are the following components in my system, almost everything
is bought used (2 hand).
