Bob - there's no way to tell in advance unfortunately - you'd have to try it and see. If had X10 devices, Powerlines etc or anything that uses the mains as a carrier, I'd be very tempted to put one of these filters betwen my hi-fi and the mains -- Phil Leigh

Is there any possibility that you have connected one of your speakers in reverse phase? That will kill low freq output and make the whole system sound bright. You can easily test with a mono signal. If it sounds like it's coming from between the speakers, the phasing is correct. If it sounds l

Thanks for posting some data, Sean. This obviously is not the whole story, but it would indicate there is likely no difference between the switcher and the linear supply. I think I see the biggest problem with the switcher in the experimental setup. It says "Made in China" on it. If it said "Mad

Another thing to consider is the effect of the switching power supply on the other components in the stereo system. I'm using a linear supply and find it to be a nice upgrade. One interesting experiment I did was to run the Squeezebox off of the linear supply and experiment with also plugging th

As mentioned eariler, could try a different interconnect. Must say I do find Nordost a little bright in my system. I did find cables made a huge difference in my system with my ears, you could try a Virtual Dynamics interconnect, or Stereovox. Plenty of detail etc etc with out the harshness up t
