Of more importance in this context is the approximately square wave
nature of clipped signals - DaveWr has already explained that.
I suppose the flat-top of a clipped waveform can be considered to be a
momentary burst of DC. If it was flatt
Cliveb is right
Clipped midrange / bass frequencies, tend to produce square like
waveforms, therefore from Fourier Series, must contain significant high
frequencies. Many loudspeakers, even supposedly high power only have 6
watt rms handling tweeters. Also some specialist designers run tweeters

Clipped signal contains DC, no ?

Even if you've got attenuation set (by whatever means), you have to be
careful with test to

Hi all,
I had the transporter connected to a Mark Levinson 336 directly, with
no pre-amp in between. Before the transporter I used a wadia 850 with
digital volume control, that's why I have no pre-map. This experience
forces me to get one. Fortunately the repair of the speakers wasn't that
costly

I remember about 17 years ago I was checking how high I could hear
using a test CD and was pleasantly surprised

And mine too. Drivers for any speakers that audiophiles will listen to
are usually very expensive repairs.

So we shouldn't play with this, eh?

Yeap, it's kind of tricky one:
Put Transporter into setup mode - press and hold left arrow until you
see set up networking
Scroll down to:
Current settings > Factory Test > Audio Tests
Here you find some audio tones.
There is also hidden message under
Current Settings > Firmware info.

Hi Neil,
yes, i did, but that's not it. Logitech support claims it's not a
documented function in the transporter. The problem is I blew up the
midrange units of my speakers when I tried it, now they want me to show
them this function.

Hi everyone,
when browsing around on the menu of the transporter I found 6
audiotests. Now i can't find it anymore. Does anybody know under which
menuoption they are located? Thanks.
