I have a few pages from an Inventário for my 4th great-grandmother that I need
some help with; specifically, deciphering some of the language around her house
and quinta in Fajã de Cima, São Miguel.
However, the Archive said expressly not to post the Inventários on the Int
I thought I acknowledged the error in my earlier comments. How it got there
I don't recall. I just made some other corrections taken from the Ribeira
Quente casamentos index.
Bottom line, check your files against the records if you want to be
accurate.

Yes, I have that Virginia linked to Joao Ignacio de Lima and Francisca Rosa
de Mello. But JR has her linked wrong. I think he made a typo in his

directory, so I'm going to have to see if I can figure out which Francisc

(bapt 5 Feb) in RQ. I have her mom born as c. 1817. Maybe that
approximation came from the marriage?

The first Manuel died before the 2nd was born. Yes, a family can have 2
(or more) Marias all alive. Typically, the oldest went by Maria and the
other(s) went by their middle (usually religious) name.

Top Right, Francisco. I’m confused on this one. I think it says that
Francisco is the son of Joao Jacinto de Resendes e Jacinta Umbelina. Paternals
are: Joao Jose de Resendes e Maria Francisca. Maternals are: Joao Jose da
Camara e Antonia Jacinta. Then comes my confusion. Towards the very b

Doña is spanish and is pronnounced diferent from the portuguese Dona (it's
almost like the name Donna, but the 'o' is like the 'oa' of 'boat').

I have found the ship my grandmother immigrated on and the date but can’t seem
to find the ship passenger list.
Marcelina Gaspar Soares sailed on SS Dona Maria on June18,1902.
The SS Dona seems to have a few lists but not that date so I am guessing it is
an arrival date that is on her immigrat

I can make out the names of the groom and bride but I can not read the names of
