When you run reports, you can be specific. Like Rick said, the report might be
trying to include everyone in the tree. I've never had that issue of crashing.

all descendants of one person to GEDCOM. I can do all the reports I need.

Putting in the diacritics (tildes, accents, etc) is your choice.
