Hi,
I set up backuppc in my small home network. It works fine now backing up
my work linux PC over ssh/rsync. However, trying to backup /etc on

been backed up:

Hello Craig,
It's been a while, I hope you're doing well.
I ran the smbclient command directly and it looks like a problem with
accented chars in Samba.
On each problematic client, the last file backuped contains an accented
char "Voisinage réseau" (Network Places) and it confuses smbclient.

I have seen similar problems, and they were hardware-related. Have you
eliminated problems with the network connections? Have you checked the
network interfaces on both computers for errors? Try connecting both
computers together using different cables and a different switch.

Just a thought. Maybe that host's rsync has gotten updated and you
are not yet using the "-D" flag in an rsync backup. The 2.1.2pl2 diff
file can be applied to 2.1.2.tar.gz and will fix that issue.
I know I had that problem myself.
