Ok thank you sir!! (but I probably am still losing my mind :-) )
The daily emails (and Mark's email) gets us to the latest posts in the
meantime..

Really interesting post!!
But I can't seem to find this thread on the new Beaglebone forums webpage
over here: https://forum.beagleboard.org/
Am I missing something or just loosing my mind?

Take the following with a grain of salt in that it's probably outdated, but
it may also be something to consider if you're not planning on using capes:
A few year's back on BBB, we ran across an issue where config-pin gave an
error when attempting to reconfigure pins that were already in use by
We had a similar issue on the BB-X15 (am57xx) a few year's back, where the
primary image (SPL, u-boot, kernel, debian) was flashed to eMMC. We were
using an SD card for logging, and the SD card was formatted as FAT to allow
reading from Windows. However, an improperly formatted SD card
Hi when you say you're collecting information for faster boot times, can
you tell us more about what OS and FS you're running? Why are you focusing
solely on speeding up the hardware as opposed to ways to make u-boot and
the kernel to boot faster, for instance?
Here's a prior post on speeding

Hi Steve,
I'm just picking back up Linux on the BB-X15, and was looking for expansion
headers. Saw a couple of designs online (someone had gerber files
available for one design, downloadable online).
These were developed by a hardware engineer on our team to support our
custom board port.
Hi Steve,
Now, I'm in the same boat.
These were developed by a hardware engineer on our team to support our
custom board port. We really wanted to send this to BB.org after all the
help they gave us. But as noted above, the hirose connector was flipped,
so we weren't able to expose the 30
Thanks for cross referencing all the docs Mark!
I'm sorry I missed this, but I stumbled upon an older GSOC project,
libdsp-x15, which looks like it adds an FFT, IFFT, and biquad/sos
functionality which are callable from a library added to Linux. Not sure
if that's part of OpenCL..

Today, it looks like I'm able to load the example C66 DSP executable built
under the TI SDK RTOS
folder ipc_3_50_04_08/examples/DRA7XX_linux_elf/ex02_messageq and
successfully run it. The other day I was getting remoteproc errors (-2)
and a message indicating that the resource table was not

Hi all,
I'm very curious about this as I have been trying to figure out how get
started with developing a DSP-based application on the C66's, but one that
also involves the beagleboard Debian distro on the A15's. I'm hoping the
GSOC students et. al. can post up any example projects utilizing
I think I have a similar question in that I'm hoping to develop an
application (as much of a software defined radio application as I can cram
into this platform) which utilizes the C66 DSP's on the BB-X15. I'm trying
to converge on a process for developing a TI RTOS application for the C66's
Also, we found that it was useful for custom board issues to consult both
beagleboard.org and TI-E2E, but for the latter, it was necessary to switch
to the TI-SDK builds as TI didn't support beagleboard/Debian builds at the
time..
FYI,

I have a 3 year old BB-X15 with a dual PHY at home. I haven't touched
Linux for a couple of years, but am trying to pick it back up on a hobby
basis. We were working on a custom board with a dual PHY, but that effort
was put on hold a couple of year's ago. Message me if you need me to try
Take it, you've already stumbled across something like this or ruled out a
tracfone as a mobile hotspot?
