Near the noon hour, both the Franklin's Gull and 4 Red Knots were still being
seen at Oshawa Second Marsh, seen straight out from the viewing tower, feeding
on the mudflats. A scope is absolutely mandatory for viewing.

Smith Park in Etobicoke, were re-found this morning by Joanne Redwood and I.
The Western Grebe was viewed in the lake off the western spit. Photos were

evening as it came into roost. The Husaks and I watched the bird, at 4:55 PM,

Concession 6 W, in Flamborough, just north of Hamilton.

the FISH CROWS made an appearance at Bronte Harbour this evening at 5:55 PM.

I just got a call from Greg Thompson of London, telling me he just found a GRAY
CATBIRD in a fairly large flock of AMERICAN ROBINS, in the ravine area of
Highland Woods. It was crossing a dirt path between the two ravines just north
of #80 Highview apa

I just had a LINCOLN'S SPARROW in Highland Woods, in south London. This species
isn't too often seen in these parts and this is my latest fall date for this
species so it is a notable sighting.

This morning brought a scad of migrants to the woods and area, and today will
likely be the best day to bird Highland Woods.
WHITE and RED BREASTED NUTHATCHES are everywhere. As are the DOWNYS and
FLICKERS.
Initially entering the open area, I had my first GOLDEN CROWNED KINGLETS of the
fa
Highland woods produced a few birds today. Along with the local GRAY CATBIRDS,
HAIRY/DOWNY WOODPECKERS, NORTHERN FLICKERS and RED/WHITE BREASTED NUTHATCHES, I
had a few migrants which include some that are a bit behind schedule. A female

(which has been seen in unusually high numbers in the woods), and RUBY CROWNED

Migration is representing with scads of birds having shown up in the last
couple days, but today was great in particular.
Warblers for the day were YELLOW WARBLER, CANADA WARBLER, MAGNOLIA WARBLER, BAY
BREASTED WARBLER, NASHVILLE WARBLER, and TENESSEE WARBLER, with
under construction, so likely parking during the week will be
problematic.

Although I have not been selected to take part in this year's swift watch, I
have still been monitoring swifts on a daily basis, as I do with all birds.
My general observations, overall, tell me that swift numbers in the city may be
