Audio/data CD types are related to what info/how you write to either a
writable or rewritable CD - the actual CD type itsself doesn't make a
difference except that some older CD players aren't happy with rewriteable
CDs, plus, the plain writeable ones will be a bit cheaper.
Basically, it comes

Hi Sharon,
What you want to buy are CDR disks.
When you burn your disk, burn it as an audio cd.
This will allow you to play the disk in most new players.
If the files you are wanting to put on the disk are not compatible with an
audio cd format, then the software you are useing should alert you
Hello all,
I need urgently to learn how to work with Linux. I know there's a software
called vmware, that I can use under windows to create a virtual machine where
to install and learn and use Linux OS. I heard that there
are jaws scripts for VMWare server that make it accessible. Does anyone

I am not sure about scripts for VMWare but you can set up a virtual
machine with VirtualPC 2007 which you can download from
www.microsoft.com. VirtualPC does not require any scripts to run with
JFW. Be forewarned that VirtualPC does not currently, and probably never
will work directly with USB
Why is it, then, that a data cd will not play in a conventional cd player; if I
make a cd or shall I say an audio cd, it will play in my cd players; however,
the data cds that I make will only play on my computer and will not play in my
players; what's up with that?

Because a standard CD player will only be able to access audio disks of
which data disks do not fall in to such a category.

A CD-R can be both a data CD or an Audio CD. It is indeed possible to
mix data and audio information but it is probably best to avoid doing this
as it can be technically difficult.
Basically you tell your burning software whether you want a data or audio CD
and it will copy files of

I'm using a Plextor DVD drive.
When I use DVD+RW discs in the drive it works fine. I am able to record
and re-record.
But when I put a DVD+R disc in the drive it doesn't seem to recognize it.
I can't format it either.
I've bought two different kinds of DVD+R discs with the same result.
Any ideas
I experienced your same confusion when I tried using my PTR1, and pass along
my sympathies. My solution was to go to a Staples, and find a clerk who
really understood their products. It helps to specify that the CD's you want
are more expensive than normal blank CD's because they include a charge

I'm sure by now my Gold Wave needs updating but I'm not sure how to do that. I

That is a great question and one I've been asking to many folks for a long
time. I've never heard of a solution. It would seem to me someone could
develop some type of USB plug in unit to read screens prior to an OS loading

You are right, but you could make the soun^ drivers internal so they
don't come from the computer, but from a ,,cd or something.
Thanks

I am told that when you burn a data CD, you have to close it in order to run
it on another computer and the same is true for audio or music CD's. I think
you can later open it again to add more data but you must close it the last
thing.
I hope I am right about this.'

Your software should offer to close the cd when you are done burning the stuff.
