Hi, everyone. Since my older version of Jaws won't work with internet explorer 8, I don't want to install it. How do I turn off automatic updates so I don't get the microsoft updates message when I go to my home page? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks very much in advance. Rose

I would say that is definitely classic virus-type behavior. If you find a virus with avast, you should scan your computer more than once, and keep doing it until you get zero threats found or something to that effect.
