BD,
Seeding teams is well hard and I certainly would want to do it for the tour. ;-)
But if you fancy having a pop at guessing which teams will finish in
the top 8 in which order then hurry on down to the Lookfly tour
predictor now.

yo!
I have to say, I found the times of games extremely unfair when playing the B
tour last year. It really didn't help when getting to the A tour having to
play games twice as long. I thought other people might have moaned about this,
but I guess you should never leave moaning to someone el
Whilst people may not agree with Jon's views I really don't see I problem
with him expressing them in an open forum. To be honest I find his mails
quite interesting & nearly always raises good points which usually prompts
further discussion and better awareness amongst other teams.

I think we're pretty much agreed on what we want here. The way I
suggested it makes Tour 1 for the B-Tour open for anybody to win and
means you have to put in a big performance at tour 1 to sort out the
seedings. Then you only play teams around you. If you miss tour 1
and end up starti
Glad to see that the spirit of open mindedness is still alive and well in

You don't consider the day that the seedings are announced and when the
format is
first released to be an appropriate time to have this discussion? If the TD

Jon,
I totally agree that the B Tour at Tour 1 should remain a very open format.
The only change I would like to see is if it is at the same venue as the A
tour then I would like to see the 4 crossover games get played after
quarters.
Your suggestion of basically the old tour format would be very
Hannah & Wigsy,
Can you or the UKUA confirm that, irrespective of any late fines imposed,
the 14th April is the official entry date for Tour 2 and that any teams
entering after that date forfeit their right to A tour places as per the
UKUA tour rules: http://www.ukultimate.com/open/tour_rules.aspx
Although his views are probably partly coloured by him thinking we're all
toga wearing, singers down in the B-Tour, Jaimie is partly right. Seeding
is very difficult, and the current system is probably as fair as you will
get it. You can't use Winter League results, because it is a Close Season

The way seeding is determined is in the Tour Rules, which have been
published
Some very good points there Jon.
I've played Tour for 3 years and never finished higher than 14 or
lower than 22 (I think) so I've got a bit of experience in this
bracket. When the tour was split I thought it was a great idea,
playing last year aiming to win the B-Tour and promotion was

Hi,
if anyone going to Tour B in Bristol today from the north east has a space
in their car please let me know. I'm in Bakewell in the Peaks but could meet
you on the M1. My ride fell through and the train's dead expensive. Give me a
call ASAP on 01629 813087 if you can help out. I'm more tha
All,
Some more minor changes to seedings.
The schedule is not going to be available until the tournament due to doubts
over a few of the pitches, which means we do not know which schedule we will be
using.

When I first came to this country a sat on a beach recalling great times at

Is there some way I can withdraw my entry for the Tour predictor? Given that
all these people 'know' what's going to happen, my guesses will just look
silly!

Speaking for Flyght Club, we use Winter League to coax new students to
the outdoors. It's rarely the tour team that plays. Often our winter
league teams were either split evenly or based on our student teams
and often featured random pickups like Dave Sealy or Alli Smith who
are clearly not Flygh
Because not all teams play events outdoors during the winter and the winter
events are not UKU events the winter is thought of (at least by me) as pre
season and could therefore be likened to 'friendlies' in football or other
sports which have no effect on which league a team plays in next seaso
I agree that the seedings could take into account the overall tour
result as well as the nationals, but not preseason results.
This is because some teams (sheffield steal included) didn't put out
full teams (or any teams- Leeds and Chevron) at winter league. Winter
League should be a sep
