There is huge difference between IMAP and unified messaging!!
In case of IMAP you need to create a "second" account in your outlook, where as
in unified messaging your voicemail end up in your existing corporate email

That's the whole idea behind unified messaging to manage email, fax,

That doesn't sound like a lot...

And it is not.
CUC can do IMAP just fine.
Unity is easier to troubleshoot and just all around easier.

Not sure how many there are in total but IPexpert have the following listed
on their blog having passed after July 18th - which I am guessing could be a
big chunk of the overall total.

Jac Gould CCIE #18521 (Voice)

For all our customers we go for CUC unless customer requires "unified
messaging" in which case the only option is Unity.

Sorry, a pair of Unity 7.0s my customers don't do CUC... they
think it is silly...
To be honest, I wished Unity had multiple holiday schedules (for sites
in Canada, the US and Mexico) and that ability to make anyone a call
handler owner... that is cool...

Well, to be honest, I agree, but only to the extent that the v2 lab
was known by everyone... if you were at all pegged into the system,
you knew exactly what was on the lab...
What this really meant was that a lot of people go tthe v2 CCIE Voice who suck.
And when I say 'suck', I mean they blow,
Just 5 CUCM 7s, 2 CUPS, 2 UCCX, 2 CER, MPX, and 1900 phones... by
myself... with about 300 locations... local route group saved my
butt...

Hi,
Would Vik or Mark (or any one who has done this before) give me some
hints on how to automate or "script" the loading of scenarios on my
home lab? (physical routers and switches with virtual servers)?
Can it be done with open source or some sort of commercial tool is
needed?

The 7961 is fine.
The only features added by the 7962 is iLBC and HHC, neither of which
are tested.
The point here is that you need a minimum of a Gen2 phone... the Gen1s
(7940, 7960) will not provide the features needed that are tested and
testable.
Granted, you can make and receive calls, but
Yes you really do have to have 7961 (or better) phones for the new
blueprint.
7961 is a fine model and does support Globalization/Localization and +
dialing
Also certainly the cheapest model to come by that does support those
things.

So If I go for the 61's I'll be ok? or definitly I have to acquire the

Make sure your CCM instances are defined in IOS with ver 5.0.1 or
higher.
They will register with a lower version - but they won't engage RSVP.
If that fails, reboot both HQ and BR1 routers and try again.

Yes, but not for CUPS, for transformations, + sign, etc the 40 and

Mauricio,
I've asked this question a few times and I've come to the conclusion you
need some number of 7962 or better phones for SIP, + dialing, and other
features that are not supported on earlier phones. Seems to be a
re-occuring theme when the question is asked, but 40/60's don't seem to cut
