Many of the "acadians" were from Nova Scotia, I'd have to research the details but there was a migration of Scottish Gaelic speaking Canadians who migrated from Nova Scotia (New Scotland) to Southern Louisiana in the mid to late 1800's They brought their language and culture with them. -- Scott
