Then you probably weren't doing it right, or just simply weren't
actually using the full .NET capabilities.

Wow...why the animosity?
I won't respond to most of this junk, other than to say that I LOVE many non
MS technologies...one of which should be blatantly obvious.

The best...which is why all our stuff is done in .NET these days.
thats just the point, bill must give u such a stiffy that u think u can just
use .net and everything is "the best". Because of course any code written in
.net is just "superior" to anything else on the planet. Personally, Im not
This just doesn't make sense. Backups are a integral part of any network
regardless of OS or Hardware.
Physical crashes of equipment, human error or some sort of disaster can
require that you have a backup that is easy to access and restore.
I don't care what it is, find a way to back it up.

corporate world.
Even if you use a blackberry it still connects to Exchange or Outlook. They
did this through innovation and integration.

Ok, i'll try not to be stupid
They just go about different ways of doing it. And like I said before.

Im not saying that they dont.
btw~ you were mentioning hardware products and not software and of course when
you innovate a new product there are issues. But m$ doesnt really innovate
anything, they copy, buy or crush. So they dont really get to get off with that
excuse. Take the Zune for exampl
Apple does not always make or sell the best products. They try to innovate,
and for the most part they have been very successful at innovating. But
innovation carries risk and sometimes they come up short in the quality
department. Remember the Cube? Was it called the Cube? The clear plastic
cube c

microsoft tries to control everything by doing everything and the result is a
bunch of REALLY shitty applications that are half assed done and
I think they are more interested in "being cool" than MSFT. These two
companies reflect the personalities of their founders. Gates sees himself as
a dork who sees utility in computing and doesn't mind artlessly crushing the
competition. Jobs sees himself as a hipster who sells products for other

Do you really believe this? This seems like M$ paranoia run amok. Ok, i'm
fine with the whole "MS is the devil" thing, but that does not necessarily
make their competing companies some sort of consumer angels.

I got bad news for you, Apple is trying to do one thing, and one thing only:
Make money.
look at their products(ms), obviously they dont have a care in the world about
doing it the best, they would rather be the only.
That just reiterates the point that ms doesnt care about the user experience as
long as they forked out the money for the program, whereas Apple tries to do it
right
To me that expresses in a nutshell the strategy of both companies. Microsoft
isn't trying to be the best in every category. They want to be the dominant
player, but not the best, because being the best isn't necessary in their
view.

I liked how bill cowered in his chair like a lil girl constantly looking at
steve for either approval or to see if steve was reaching over to knock him out.
I also liked how when discussing what they want their companies to be and bill
says "we want to be everything to everybody" and steve says
