If you're not scared of Java, one approach would be to use the
java.awt.FontMetrics class (probably via a temp image's Graphics
instance), specifically the getStringBounds method. That'll give you
all kinds of goodies about the font and strings written using that
font.
If you don't want that comp
Actually it still says Java Version 1.4.2 but lower down it at least says
Java Home is C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_05 so now I just sit back and
hope it has worked.
I really hope it does, this server is supposed to go out into production
tomorrow!

I just had a problem with this... Not sure if you are seeing the same
problem
I used CF's numberformat to round to two decimal places. All worked find
until a 4 digit hit it. Numberformat sticks in ',' in as in 1,000 and then
this is a srting and not a number.

Just out of curiosity, how have you managed to read MSysobjects? When

Any thoughts?

I assume you are looking for the CF equivalent of PHP to loop through
a structure.
CF uses the collection and item attributes of the tag.

Not exactly. You can do a foreach style loop over a structure, but even then
you are limited to looping over the key names rather than their values:
#myStruct[myKey]#
Or...
for (myKey in myStruct) {
writeOutput(myStruct[myKey]);
}
There's no similar syntax for looping over the elements
Hello everyone,
We're trying to figure out if there's a way in CF to figure out the
actual, physical length of a string of text - eg, in pixels, inches,
whatever.
The issue - we need to be able to accept user data for a field, that
will eventually be printed to a PDF. That PDF has strict s
