Scott,
There used to be (probably still is there) a free java based inline HTML
editor available on http://javaboutique.internet.com/ I don't know exactly
what the name of the tag was. I did give it a look and it wasn't bad, just
relatively basic.

Scott,
We will be releasing a FREE DHTML WYSIWYG editor to the public next month.
It will be completely open source and encompassed in a single ColdFusion
custom tag.

All,
Speaking of eWebEditPro, if no one minds I'd like to let everyone know that
we are starting our first round of Beta testing Netscape support for
eWebEditPro this week. This version of eWebEditPro also supports well formed
HTML including Word2000 xml filters, and XHTML compliant output.

It seems like you were lied to, or a mistake was made. I prefer to think the
presenter made a mistake - it happens. Of course, by definition,
does _work_ in Netscape, ie, it doesn't throw an error, but
you don't get the fancy DHTML stuff.

No, I'm saying that I was told that it worked. I didn't do anything, I sat
and watched the people demonstrating do things. I was also saying that,
with creative use of javascript to tweak the DOM, you *should*

There are plenty of tags out there that will do the job, however the main
problem is that most use functions that will only owrk under Internet
Explorer. The method I find the best and I haven't been able to tidy it up
to make it into a tag as yet, is to use word and convert it into a html
file.
Hi Chris,
We have on at Ektron called eWebEditPro
(http://www.ektron.com/products/ewebeditpro.cfm). We have written a tag that
replaces the spectra editor tag. We also have our editor working in Netscape
but it is still in Alpha.

I dont mumble, I gabble, then ramble on, loosely skirting the relavent
subject until finally drawing to a conclusive maybe.
the program looks quite good but 800 dollars is a bit steep for something I
could write myself in a few days.
Cheers anyway
