We are about to breach the 250k verity document limit for CF enterprise so have
bought standalone Verity K2 but the install and setup is not as straightforward
as hoped. Can anyone shed any light:
a) Do we really need to setup a standalone K2 Verity (I know that Adobe say

Apparently Solaris and Linux Verity are different.
My PDFs have lots of text and index just fine on my windows CF server.
If i try to index the PDFs on linux it just flat out ignores them. It did the
three Word Docs that were in the folder, but not the PDFs.

Yes, I'd strongly recommend it especially if you're using the "regular"
version of Verity already.
We use Oracle Text, which is excellent for database searches.
People have used Lucene with CF but you need to find parsers for this to
work.

1.) Intranet : both cf and verity using non-K2 and using files (pdf/rtf/txt) on same server.(http) = currently works great for 1's of files.
2.) Extranet : use cf and Verity K2

I am trying to use verity K2 server and am not having any luck. I
currently had a collection named fa_Suppliers with the path
/opt/coldfusionmx/verity/collections/fa_Suppliers/. So I editted the
k2server.ini file to read as follows

MX and had to upgrade up to the full version of Verity's K2 server?
