Has anyone ever heard of a 69 SS chevelle with 2 different tags on the inside door panels?
Driver side says Concours and the passenger side says SS396.
Anything special about this car or was this an option?

that number is on the passenger side.It kind of looks like an L to

Still, a crash parts book would contain the answer to whether or not

Looks like one is a 361721 and the other is a 381727. Odd body

Actually John, just go to your local parts store
with your old choke cover in hand, and ask them to find an electric choke to
fit. The guts are mounted to the cover. You know if they could match up to my 40
year old Rochester your Edelbrock will be a piece of cake.

John, you can get heavy duty choke cables for 70's
trucks like the C 60 Chevorlet with governed carb. Also, thay weremade for
School Buses with carbs back when carbs were used. They are extremely
heavy duty and do not flex as much as the wire covered cheaper type. I

Thanks Mike. I will probably do that if the lube & wire tie trick doesn’t

Looks like a part number to me, and of
course the part number would indicate whether it's for a 2dr or 4dr. If anyone
has one of those old crash parts books the answer to whether or not it is a part
number would be there.
I'm sure Dale McIntosh will weigh in on this when
he gets online. If anyone can answer it,he can.

I don't think it cost them anything more to stamp the panels when they
were made.
It was possibly an identifier stamp for Fisher body to know whether it
was to go on a 2 door, 4 door, or convertible.

I've used those before. The two things that
seem to help more is lithium grease and more support. I buy the lithium
grease in a can, and used to use it on all of my VW's cables, works well on any
cable. Also, try to secure the cable in as many points as possible with
those small tube/wire

I suspect the problem is a kinked or twisted cable, or the cable clamp
