I just reinstalled the Steering Rod in my 69 Chevelle.
Is there any special way to install it. I just put it in kind of easily. The bolt at the top fits in one way, but the rod into the rag joint also goes in one way. I am just hoping that I have installed it the right way.

I agree with Herb, I have been reading all these discussions on changing mounts for the 307 to 350, but I swapped a 307 last year and installed a 350, I did not have to change the motor mounts.
Now from a 350 to a big block 396, I do know that mounts need to be changed.

Finally I get to go next week with my son, sort of a weekend father/ son vacation.
He usually says no to do things with me, but alas he is excited about this.
Any recomendation from the group on what to do while in Phoenix, or at the auction?
Other than buy another car LOL.

Does anyone know of a rim that was produced in 68 -69, that were used on Chevelles.
I was told that there were about 100 or so made??
I am suppose to see these rare? rims next week..

Finally, Thanks Pete for a while there I thought I was imagining my plastic fenders.
Another peice education in Chevelle history.

Yes, they did install plastic inner fenders. I too wondered why would they ever do
that, but I guess they had their reasons. My car is an original 69, with the plastic
fenders, but no more.

MY BEST EXPERIENCE SO FAR CAME BY USING EASTWOOD SUPPLIES AND PAINT.
MAKE SURE YOU PREP THE BLOCK PROPERLY, THEN APPLY A GOOD BLOCK PRIMER, ( HEAT RESISTANT PRIMER ) NOT OVERDOING IT THE FIRST COAT, THEN AGAIN APPLYING A SECOND COAT OF PRIMER. REPEAT THE SAME PROCESS USING THE ORANGE PAINT THAT EAS
I personally think that one of your fenders were replaced at some point.
I am in the middle of a frame off restoration on my Convertible 69 which is equipped
with A/C. The car came with plastic inner fenders, when I removed them of course they
were horrible. After much asking around even on this
