I am looking for some guidance on replacing the package tray on my 69 SS. I
have the new one as well as new insulation for underneath. Any guidance on
making this job as easy as possible is greatly appreciated. At this time I
will not be installing any rear speakers, if that makes a difference.
When I did mine I was putting in a new rear window also. I had the glass man
come out and pull the old one out. With the rear glass out it was much easier
to work on the rear package shelf. When I had the shelf in place he came back
and set the window. Worked out good. Also if you have
Can someone tell me what the proper "look and feel"
is for the area behind the rear seat back, where the speaker holes are? If I'm
not mistaken, that area is covered by cardboard, or some other compressed paper
or sawdust kind of thing right?
What I'd like to do is make it look original,

colored cardboard more or less. It also has a piece of foam, with a piece of
material on the edge, to match your interior. Any Chevelle parts store should
have these

I'm not offended at all. Are you saying that silicone can get through the
paint primer and into the pores of the metal? I would not have expected
it
to be quite that tenacious. I also don't have it in the window
the
urethane sealant. I had never heard of that.

I think it would be easier for you to just fix the leaky window. It's going
to have to get fixed anyway.
More appropriate maybe but definitely not easier :)

Try jamming some black silicone under the moldings. Cut a very small hole
in
the tip of the tube so you can sort of inject
to fix it.

If there's a water problem, plywood would be just as bad as cardboard.

Making one out of sheet aluminum wouldn't be terribly difficult either

On a 68, the jute is on the inside, behind the seat, and the board faces

Did I see a $35 buy it now price??? Year One price for what he is selling is only $21.95 less discount if you have a 10% or 20% post card. They cost about that much to ship UPS due to oversize package too.

I need to replace the package tray on my 69 SS. When I attempted toplace the inside corner molding clips on the original package tray, a while back, it appears that the prior owner placed the metal molding, at the bottom of the rear window, upside down. The corner molding clip holes won't
